In comparison to the hotel’s attention-seeking, arcaded façade, exuding a self-assured charm, the interior spaces integrate the capsules as cozy and warm hideaways.

Unlike many of its capsule hotel counterparts, which seek an openness, M Boutique instead utilises much darker tones, softened only through the light timber. This thereby creates a more enclosed intimacy.

As the name suggests, this hotel is dedicated to the ‘space-age’ experience: sleek lines, shiny surfaces, pods designed as if to hold test subjects, and robots- of course.

46. TuboHotel

Location: Tepoztlán, Mexico
Architects: T3arc

Although the inspiration for these cement pipes is visibly grounded in Das Park Hotel, the planning of these capsules was determined by the wooded topography. Furthermore, the tubes are fitted with glass doors, thereby reinforcing this unity between built form and nature.

Guests at the Floating Hotel Pod can lazily float across the sea, drift to sleep under the stars to the gentle rocking, and wake up at Huis Ten Bosch, a Dutch-themed amusement park. Although undoubtedly a confusing experience for many, perhaps strangely enticing for the unconventional traveler.
