One of the upsides of being on a budget is it forces us to be more creative. Recycling, apart from the important sustainable factor also is a great way to let the mind juices flow. Any old glass and plastic bottles can now be candle stands, planters or wall décor.

Being blessed with such immense culture and talent, some of the best décor elements l can be bought not from the high-end stores but from the local artisans and shopkeepers of our local markets. By doing this we can support local businesses as well as save a buck!

Keeping plants alive can be a hassle especially with a busy schedule. A great way of including natural plants is by drying flowers and leaves and using them as a décor element. They last a long time and feel rustic and natural.

Contrast is the design principle used to create the most striking interiors. By combining heavy Victorian styles with earthy and natural notes we can create harmony in chaos. This brings character to the space and takes it to the next level.

Natural light is key to bringing an earthy space, come to life. While most of us don’t have the luxury of determining the window sizes in our rentals, maximizing the natural light is our next best option.
