Home is where the heart is! But what if you are a millionaire actor and own a couple of homes that certainly makes you king of hearts. Here we are talking about the charming actor, filmmaker, and philanthropist, George Clooney. If you are unaware of this famous personality, George Clooney is an Emmy award-winning American actor widely known for his roles in Ocean 11, Batman & Robin, and the television series ER.
George Clooney and his barrister wife, Amal Clooney, have an impressive real estate portfolio. They have marked their territory across the globe, and their choices are just evolving, and you wouldn’t deny it. From a luxurious Italian waterfront villa to a high-end condo in Manhattan, they own it all!
So, without any further ado let’s jump into these exquisite houses owned by the Clooneys.
Multi-million mansion in Studio City
After giving a successful performance as Dr. Doug Ross in the television series Er, this was the first highlighting purchase of $2.2 million by George Clooney. The house is located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Studio City, and originally in the year 1995 stretching across 7,354 square feet with six bedrooms.
In 2012, George did a walk-through of the home for the CBS show Person to Person. At that time, the house had hardwood floorings, coffered ceilings, a stone fireplace, and a massive dining room featuring an extensive range of wine collections. The home included amenities like a home theatre, a bar featuring vintage Hollywood photos, a basketball court, an outdoor pool, and a bar.
Later, George Clooney invested millions of dollars in the expansion of the property in the years since its purchase.
Villa By Lake Como estate
A stunning 18th-century Villa Oleandra was purchased by Clooney, in 2002, from the Heinz family for $7 million. And as a cherry on top, this villa is just a few steps from the water. The massive property accommodates 25 rooms. Other features include tennis courts, an outdoor pool, gym, several landscaped gardens, massive bathrooms, as well as a separate “pizza room”. The villa also houses a garage that shelters numerous vintage cars owned by George Clooney.
The villa is not just a vacation home to Clooney but also many other A-listers personalities like the Obamas, Jennifer Aniston, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry. It is believed that George Clooney also owns the villa next door, Villa Margherita, which he bought around the same time.
Abode in Mexico
In 2009, George Clooney purchased a custom-designed home in Los Cabos, Mexico. It was designed by Mexico’s pre-eminent architect, Ricardo Legoretta. The house includes a long hallway entrance that opens into a double-height courtyard and has many entertaining spaces, plus dining and sitting areas, an open kitchen, and a bar that functioned as a central hub for sports games and cocktails.
George Clooney believes a big old house without friends and family is depressing. Thus, he purchased this property along with his dear friends Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford, whose house was loosely connected to his. Later on, they both sold their homes together, collectively known as Casamigos or House of Friends.
A Royal English mansion
After George and Amal Clooney got married in 2014, they purchased a 17th-century mansion on the English island of Sonning of the eye on the river Thames in London. The mansion is a 4-acre property purchased for $13 million. Some distinguishing features include an entry hall with towering ceilings with Georgian molding, a sitting room with family photos, a pool house, and a 16-seat screening room known as “the party zone”. The mansion also has a glass-covered garden with citrus trees.
A hip condo in Manhattan
When the Clooney couple is in New York City, this luxurious apartment has been their home since 2016. They purchased a full-floor unit for $14.7 million. This high-rise building is located on One Hundred East Fifty Third Street in midtown Manhattan. The tower is designed by the famous architectural firm Foster & Partners. The high-rise building comprises 94 units and has walls of windows, high ceilings, and polished concrete floors. The apartment building includes amenities like a lap pool, a library, a state-of-the-art wellness facility, a culinary market, and a ground-floor restaurant by Michelin-rated chef Joël Robuchon.
The Clooney’s still maintain at least one residence close to Gerber and Crawford. It is reported that they have purchased the unit one floor above Clooney’s.
A vineyard estate in France
2021 was just another year for George and Amal Clooney, they bought another big real estate purchase. The property was an $8.3 million Provence wine estate in Brignoles, France known as Domaine du Canadel. It is an 18th-century estate spanning 425 acres with vast gardens, a lake, an olive grove, 72 feet shaded pool, a tennis court, and a 25-yard vineyard.
This estate is located just a few miles away from the estate Chateau Miraval, owned by George Clooney’s friend, Brad Pitt.
