Jesse Tyler Ferguson is an American actor with experience in Broadway theatre, television and film. Best known for his role in the sitcom Modern Family where he played in the years 2009-2020. He was awarded Primetime Emmy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award.
Apart from his acting achievements, the houses he owns with his husband deserve no less attention, so let’s take a look at the architecture of these extraordinary and luxurious apartments.
1. Los Feliz Home – Los Angeles, California | Jesse Tyler Ferguson
This historical house that looks like it has its soul belonged not only to Jesse Tyler Ferguson. One of the previous owners was Gwen Stefani and the later ones Leonardo DiCaprio, so are you interested in why it is so popular? This Spanish Colonial home comes from the late 1920s. This building has the area in front of it developed as a huge terrace. The main wide door located under a monumental arc and partly hidden behind metal, decorated gates contain intertwined initials J&J. The arrangement of the building gives the impression of a fairy-tale theatre scene prepared for a romantic play.
The outdoor swimming pool situated right next to this white building covered with a tiled roof is the best showcase of the two faces of this house: historical and modern. It is difficult to describe the whole variety of interior finishing materials but it is necessary to mention original colourful tile floors, curved iron handrails and hand-decorated roof trusses in dark wood.
The complexity of decorations is in every one space. The living room contains a mix of historical details like a hoop-shaped chandelier that is compiled with a colourful armchair and sculpture of a horse made of car parts.
2. Encino Home – San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California
After Los Feliz Home was put for sale, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband moved to a more suburban area, conducive to family life. Encino Home, in contrast to the previous one, is modern. Priced at $8,7mln, the building was designed by Industrial Strength Development. Situated on a hill among oak trees and lush greenery, the house provides amazing views. The climatic road leading to the property ends with a stone wall and wooden gate.
The house is situated at a considerable distance from the fence which makes it more private. This 3-storey building looks modern but is finished with traditional materials—natural stone, fair and black wood and spacious glazings.
Arrangement of the garden space provides many places to relax like a pool or outdoor grill area. The fireplace is accessible both from the terrace and the living room. It makes an effect of continuation of the house area on the outside. The interior design is characterized by roominess, modernity, the simplicity of solutions and the lightness of the materials. The dominant features here, similarly to the façade, are light wood on floors and ceilings and the whiteness of walls and kitchen worktops.
The main element of the living room—the grey spacious couch complex with the bar located in the background—looks very hospitable, as if inviting you to sit and linger. If all of this doesn’t sound luxurious, Encino Home contains 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, huge walk-in closets and an intimate cinema room.
3. New York’s apartment | Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Jesse Tyler Ferguson moved to Manhattan after the last season of Modern Family sitcom, which filming took place in Los Angeles. Together with Justin Mikita, they are the first owners of this flat which contains two bedrooms and amenities like air conditioning. One of the main requirements for Jessie during the design process was to maximize storage space, which resulted in solutions like creative built-in cabinets in the wall recess or artfully hidden cupboards on both sides of the bed in the bedroom.
There is no way not to be impressed with the cosiness of the living room obtained with the use of furniture in the shades of blue, decorative cushions and the variety of hanging pictures. This interior is full of embellishments on various themes, in different styles, which, however, looks together very well.
We can find dedicated pieces of art, like the woollen wall decoration in three primary colours of this apartment designed by Meghan Shimek or the luminous rooster designed by Nights of Neon. There are also pictures related to the theatre and original sculptures: a goddess and a sheep.
A spacious kitchen as a part of the open-plan area contains numerous cabinets and hanging shelves. The kitchen equipment such as a refrigerator have been hidden under unified wooden fronts, which goes well with the white shiny kitchen worktop. The main bedroom, similar to the living room, is designed in a cosy style.
One of the bathrooms presents its complete opposite where gold-black wallpaper covers all the walls creating an elegant but also a little bit dark atmosphere. This wallpaper designed by Donald Robertson was personalized for Jesse and Justin and presents important elements of their life like Broadway or dogs. Jesse Tyler Ferguson confirms that in this place, he feels a homely atmosphere that emanates even from the photos themselves.
