1. Prateeksha | Amitabh Bachchan House

The word “Prateeksha” symbolizes hope and stability, and it is the first bangalow that Amitabh Bachchan’s family ever bought and built, which also explains the meaning of its name. The actor lived there with both his parents Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and kept going there after they left this world for celebrations and prayings under his parents’ temple.

3. Jalsa

One of the most luxurious houses located, no less than a palace, Jalsa is known to be the main Bachchan’s family home and you might have already seen it in Satte Pe Satta hit film (1982), or in many other films that were shot there like Anand, NamakHaram, Chupke Chupke, etc.

Lying in close proximity to megastar’s childhood home, with 10000 sq ft and two storeys, this spacious and magnificent property is no doubt an iconic landmark in the city and attracts many tourists and photographers. It is easily recognized for all the palm trees and shrubs on the sides of driveways that lead to the main dark wooden big gate serving as the main entrance. The inside of this house is as epic as its history, and it is exceptionally elegant and opulent.

The main living room, with that deep pistachio green corner, reflective surfaces and its traditional towering arches is simply a regal and authentic space with a special traditional touches, but is also home for ornately detailed baroque and vintage elements, multiple silver and metallic pieces, and other fascinating South Indian-style art pieces.

Another epic space in Jalsa is the family’s intimate and relaxing living room, where there is a sense of Mughal and Persian architecture accentuated with the light wooden panelling close fitting the walls that are also garnished with the family’s photographs and few other contemporary paintings. The mixture of the structure and decorations is complemented by wonderful light effects sending a cozy feeling to the atmosphere.

And last but not least, Amitabh Bachchan’s study and working area. This room, although it houses too many artworks and paintings, is still quite different from the interior of the rest of the aborde, for its modern aesthetic where the color palette is composed of a cream and light brown colors on the walls, and a plush olive green and a black coffee for the furniture.
