Materials constitute the essence of a construction project, defining its expression, technology, and thus its feasibility. Materials evolution marks Architecture over time: from the most primitive forms to the most modern and contemporary ones, where natural raw materials and recycled raw materials come together to create new solutions and performances, in line with living and dwelling. A mix of natural and recycled ingredients generates innovative materials to meet the challenges of the future, satisfying present needs.

The 5-meter installation takes the form of an irregular hexagon of multi-material panels: Material Tower showcases the essence of sustainable materials, at the core of innovative design and the fresh vision of Saint-Gobain. Not coincidentally, “Making the world a better home,” the raison d’être of the Group, describes the uniqueness and technology of the brand in designing integrated, safe, and efficient solutions for an ethical interpretation of living and building.

The tower features six sides: two with material cladding, two completed by LED walls, and finally, two transparent ones that, like suspended windows, reveal an internal sculpture made of glass wool. A transparency that evokes and describes a cloud of creative thoughts: the material filaments capture lights and shades from the top of the tower, surrounded by LEDs of different colors.

The LED walls, whose lighting was automated by Microdevice, told the story of the material: synonymous with research and experimentation, innovation, and sustainability, keys to a transversal journey between cultures and knowledge, multiple languages that tell the encounter and fusion of materials from their origin to their transformation.
