Parul University is a private university that established its first institute in 1993 and was later recognized as University in 2015 at Vadodara Gujarat. It offers diploma, graduate, and post-graduate courses. It is a blend of 26 faculties and 36 institutes. It has a vibrant 150 acres campus including sports courts, gym, food courts, and housing for 28000 students. Dr. Devanshu Patel is the president of the university.
The university is awarded as Best University in Western India by Praxis Media and ranked among the top 50 private Universities in India for leading technical innovations 2020 by the ARIIA Ministry of Human Resources Development. Before attaining the status of university, Parul institute was affiliated with Gujarat Technical University and now it’s become a part of the university and affiliated with the board of Parul University. The institute has been approved by COA and AICTE. The institute has well equipped ventilating studio, a Design and Construction Workshop, and art facilities of all kinds. It strongly believes in the idea of 3E’s that is Exposure, Exploration, and Experience. It believes to create a world-class interacting and creative environment for students to enhance their creativity.
The architecture department that is Parul Institute of Architecture and Research offers a variety of courses at both graduation and post-graduation levels. Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Planning, Bachelors in Design, MA in Architectural Journalism, Integrated M.sc in Architectural Studies, M.des Digital Architecture, M.Des Landscape, M.Des Sustainable Design, Master of Valuation, MBA Rural planning and management, MMS Heritage conservation planning and Management, B.Des Building and Infrastructure, M.Plan environment planning, M.Plan Urban and Regional Planning, Integrated MMS in heritage conservation, planning and management, Master in Urban Design and M.Des Landscape.
The prime objective to provide these programs is to provide technical education to students so that they can contribute actively towards the major urban and regional issues, and improve the quality of living of people. They provide a balance of theoretical and practical knowledge. Even in times of pandemic learning never stops. The Institute has organized around a series of 30 webinars of various architects such as Ar Pratyush Shankar, Ar Manu V. Gopalan, AR Girish Doshi, Ar Aviram Rozin, and many more architects.
At the Institute, they also offer a student exchange program to countries such as Russia and Poland for a semester to explore more and learn new things. Under the related study program, the students have visited the states such as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Pondicherry, etc. They also organize a workshop on basic design under the guidance of Ar. Percy Pithawala sir in February 2020. The environment is friendly and formal. The Institute also organized alumni meet to interact with super seniors and discuss designs.
Various workshops were organized such as making brick from waste and making parabolic structures. Students of the Institute also installed a glimpse of the culture of Vadodara in the form of painting at Amit Nagar Bridge Vadodara.
There is an annual fest called AAKAR that has been organized by the institution. It provides an opportunity for students to enhance their skills. It gives an occasion to the students and teachers to celebrate the crossing over a milestone of their academic journey. Through various events and cultural programs. Every year we have different themes based on which all decorations and sets are done.
During AAKAR, they organize the National Symposium which includes seminars and lectures of various academicians and practicing architects. It is also based on a specific theme. Until Now, they have organized a symposium on two themes: “Inheritance Imprints” and “Ecologia footprints”. The paper that is presented is compiled in the form of a research paper and published as Research Journal: AURA.
The campus is well designed in terms of landscape and facilities. Food courts are designed in a modern way and some stalls are for woman empowerment. The college provides the fund for various startup ideas to the students to promote their ideas. New courses are been introduced. Other than the curriculum, they seek to develop the nurture and growth of the students through the various student clubs, which provide a platform for students to explore their creative potential and helps to develop their passion. Now the Parul University has been setting a benchmark in higher education. Around 16000 students from the university have been placed in reputed companies and display the far-reaching height in terms of carrier opportunities. University has a tie with various reputed corporate industries which conduct placement drives on campus every year. It offers a package of up to 29 lakhs to the students.
