White Box is a minimalistic residential project which emphasizes on effective spacial planning and openeness. The arrangement of various rooms and spaces ensures optimal functionality and flow through the design. Opening up the interior by removing the partitions created a multi functional space without compromising the segregation of activities that occurs in a family.

The project is a 3 BHK residence with an area of 1800 sqft located on 7.5 cent plot. One of the major challenge the Architects had to tackle while designing was to accommodate all the features of a modern residence within the limited area. Large openings, clean geometry and custom made furniture merge together to craft a contemporary house that frames a vista towards the hill. The placement of bay windows and wide openings allow in maximum sunlight and wind flow thorough out the house.

The minimalistic architecture palette is continued in terms of color, form and materials. Clean surfaces, neutral colors and the elegantly crafted furnitures enhance the overall aesthetics of the home. White, Cement Finish and Green are the colors used through out the design. A pop of color is added through contrasting color furniture to break the monotony. Sustainability is also factored in by reusing the furniture that belonged to the clients’ old home. Local artisan craftmanship is encouraged for creating the aesthetic finishes like exposed concrete ceiling, textured wall and in-situ casted cement pavers with pearl grass.

The sleek exposed concrete finish also helped in reducing the cost as it eliminated the cost for plastering and painting.  A deck area is provided as an extension from family dining which acts as a patio where informal family gathering can take place. The landscape of this patio is curated as a vegetable garden. The gate is designed to accommodate an extra car if required as the entry road to the plot is narrow.
