Thom Mayne (born 1944), founder of the Los Angeles studio Morphosis and 2005 Pritzker Prize laureate, builds architecture that looks beamed in from the future — the perforated-steel 41 Cooper Square, the cantilevered cube of the Perot Museum, and the energy-slashing San Francisco Federal Building. Thom Mayne is an American architect. He has held teaching positions at SCI-Arc, the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is principal of Morphosis Architects, an architectural firm in Culver City, California. He received the Pritzker Architecture Prize in March 2005, AIA Gold Medal, Rome Prize.
