21. Blooming Bougainvillea
Created by Designer Madeline Stuart, the patio design is situated in the backyard of a Southern California house that belongs to architects John Byers and Wallace Neff. Aimed at creating a dream-like garden oasis feeling, the elements that provide the space with the correct touch are the antique accent lighting and abundant planting of bougainvillaea. The pergola itself provides the space with the perfect screen for filtering the sunlight.
22. Poolside Patio
Part of a historic Long Island farmhouse, the patio is situated beside the pool. Via the usage of salvaged corrugated-and-wired glass, the awning is created; while the custom outdoor furniture is covered with Perennials fabric cushions. The topiaries are boxwood, while the pool surround and patio are of Kota stone.
23. An Open and Wide Space
This particular design attempts to provide the outdoor area with a clubhouse vibe. With straw being used as the predominant material here, for the roof as well as the walls; the space is also provided with a bar, ample seating and mood lighting to amplify the overall ambience. The open concept permits the climate to add to the experience as well.
24. Bricks plus Stones
A quite simple design, this particular stone and/or brick patio can easily be adapted to a house’s backyard. A design by Landscape East & West, this patio features a multi-level design with areas separately allocated for eating as well as relaxing around the fire pit. This particular design gives a raw and unfinished natural look due to the stones used, giving a basic aesthetic.
25. Townhouse Contemporary Patio
A patio outside a West Village townhouse, the furniture is made out of teak, with cushions covered in a Perennials fabric. With the open space shielded by a boxwood hedge, the space is a great example that can showcase the creation of quality patios in urban multi-storey spaces.
Therefore, the possibilities of innovation and design when it comes to Patios are innumerable; with great scope to experiment and attempt newer styles. The template for such designs is variable, with parameters of consideration such as area, dimensions, climate, the direction of the site, and most importantly budgetary constraints. Patios do provide its user with a natural connection while being in the comfort of their own home and furniture of use. Thus, the potentialities of working on a great patio design are quite many, and the examples mentioned above; highlight that very fact, in the greatest way possible.
