The Lab of the Future rethinks the conventional computer lab as an adaptable, student-centred learning environment designed for an all-girls school in Ghaziabad.
Project Name: Lab of the Future
Studio Name: Delhi Collective
Project Location: Uttam Girls School, Ghaziabad
Date of Completion: 2025
Area: 1500 sqft
Team: Sidharth Khatri

Instead of rigid rows or long benches, the space is composed of distinct zones — focused workstation clusters, perimeter computer bays, and soft breakout seating — allowing students to shift seamlessly between individual work, collaborative tasks, and VR-based exploration.

A warm, minimal material palette of wood, soft neutrals, and glass creates an atmosphere that feels open, calm, and contemporary.

Circular lighting elements and integrated AV transform the room into an interactive teaching space, while full-height glass partitions maintain transparency between areas and support cross-group learning.

By merging flexible furniture, immersive technology, and spatial clarity, the Lab of the Future elevates the computer lab into a studio-like environment. It champions collaboration, encourages experimentation, and positions digital learning as an active, creative, and shared experience.
