Sri Venkateshwara College of architecture is a private college also called SVCA established in 1996 by Surbhi Education Society in Madhapur Hitech city Hyderabad with a campus of 2.5 acres nestled between the IT hub of the city. It is one of the best colleges in Hyderabad for architectural studies to appear in the search list ranked 33rd by India today and is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and fine arts university (JNAFAU). The college has architecture courses approved by the Council of Architecture (COA) with a training program to sculpt their students into professionals.
The courses provided by SVCA are B. Arch – Bachelor of architecture, a 5-year degree course with a one-year internship program; Diploma in Architecture which is a 3 years course; and M. Arch – Masters of Architecture.

College infrastructure
The college infrastructure is one of the things that need to be taken into account when looking for a good degree college since it reflects the college’s impression and this is where students spend most of their time. In any architecture college, students learn more through observation and other outdoor activities than sitting in their studios so an active campus is always beneficial for students.
SCVA Students have been provided with good facilities when talking about the infrastructure with spacious studios having proper drafting tables and storage for each separate classroom for theory-based subjects, various well-equipped labs for particular subjects and computer labs for students to excel in design software’s as well with Wi-fi facility. It has seminar halls and a Faculty Centre for all the professors. All these facilities add up to 58,000 sq. ft of built-up area. A parking area of about 30,000 sq. ft. The campus houses a hostel facility for both boys and girls within the campus.
The college has a strong Alumni network to help its current students with the best support and opportunities. It also Provides special studios and classes for learners and average students to bring all of its students to the same educational level. There is a special Research and Development cell for involving staff and students in R&D activities.
Eligibility and Admission Process
To get admission into this prestigious college candidates need to have passed a 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks with Mathematics as a subject with a recognized board. Candidates with Diploma are also eligible for the same. The council of architecture conducts the National aptitude test in Architecture (NATA) every year as an entrance exam that needs to be qualified by students to get through the admission process for a full-time B. Arch degree course in colleges registered with the Council of Architecture (COA). There are 120 seats available for the 5-year full-time B.Arch. course. Students aspiring to pursue architecture from SVCA have to apply through the NATA entrance examination and counselling channel all through the online registration process.
Student Development
The college aims to groom students through rigorous academics and fieldwork. Students get a holistic exposure to several subjects they study during the period of their course which include Architectural Design, Arts, History, Building Construction process and Elective subjects. There is a mandatory one-year internship that students are supposed to do in Architectural, Planning and Construction Firms.
Students are taken for site visits to significant buildings, the college conducts study tours to various states for architectural and cultural exposure to nourish students with Indian architecture.
During these study tours, students not only observe architecture but also learn to document the monuments of our history and present them through various mediums.
SVCA holds an annual festival called ‘Manthan’ which is solely organized by the students where they learn something more than architecture starting from proposing the fests budget to deciding the kind of activities, games, events to be held, bringing sponsorship’s, building installations, wall paintings, decoration the venues. etc.
Students get the opportunities to attend reputed architects and professionals’ seminars and conferences, workshops, various exhibitions are held from time to time and get to produce films and audio-visual material, publish newsletters, journals documents and books. Students and Faculty are encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities for social growth. Privilege to interact with other related fraternities of Architecture like Godrej Green Business Centre, NIFT, etc.
The college awards its students with many appraisals. The final year toppers are awarded a gold medal by Surabhi Educational society every year, Sri P.V. Narsimha Rao Former Prime Minister of India memorial gold medal, B. Sarojini Devi memorial gold medal, Sri kistamma memorial gold medal, Sri Narayana Chetty. Retired IAS memorial gold medal, Late Ms. Pratyusha memorial gold medal are the few awards and many cash awards are given out to the toppers of the institution
