Established in 1989 by Chiranjiv Charitable Trust, Sushant School of Art and Architecture is one of the most popular private architecture colleges in India. It is located in the Sushant University erstwhile Ansal University campus in Gurugram, Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). The campus sprawls over fifteen acres of land with the lush hills of Aravali in the backdrop.
Sushant School of Art and Architecture has consistently been recognized for its outstanding academic rapport. It has been ranked “11th for Architecture” by India Today in 2020 and “15th for Architecture” in 2021. It has also been ranked as the “Number 1 Private Architecture School” by The Outlook in 2017 and “Best University of Architecture Studies” by Assocham National Education Excellence Award in 2017.
The Institution has been recognized by the Council of Architecture (COA), University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA).
Academic Programmes
Sushant School of Art and Architecture offers a host of academic programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels.

Apart from full-time collegiate degree programmes, the institution also runs certificate courses for students who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate education in architecture. These summer/ winter courses cover concepts like design principles, conceptualization and creative expression for senior secondary school students and adaptive re-use technologies inbuilt architecture, understanding landscape architecture, interior architecture and nighttime dystopia for students who have completed the five-year bachelor’s degree course.
Facilities on Campus
The Library at Sushant School of Art and Architecture is not only the knowledge centre of the institution but is also an ambient hotspot for students and faculty to study and research. It has a collection of around 9000 titles of books, 2000 dissertations and project reports, 25 PhD Theses and 1400 CDs. It also offers access to thousands of e-books and journals on the internet.
The campus provides access to a private photocopying, plotting and printing facility. The Workshop in the school allows students to gain hands-on experience by creating models and projects. The computer laboratory in the school allows students to familiarize themselves with software like AutoCAD and Corel.
The school also boasts of a Zyxis Studio which is equipped with a Laser cutter and Engraving machine and a Z-axis 3D printer.
Extra-curricular Activities
Sushant School of Art and Architecture boasts of a buzzing cultural environment on campus. The institution has three societies dedicated to dance, drama and music.
Dance Society
The Dance Society at Sushant School of Art and Architecture has claimed prizes at the National Association of Students of Architecture Convention (NASA) for three consecutive years. With an aim to relieve stress, students get together and explore new forms and styles of dance in this club.
Drama Society
A potpourri of actors and writers, the institute’s Drama Society is actively engaged in putting up plays with contemporary and pop culture references.
Music Society
The Society is a hub for singers, songwriters and instrumentalists who share a strong passion for music. The club organizes performances throughout the year and takes part in competitions across the country.
Events and Workshops
The year-long multi-host workshop on sustainability and exploring the potential of mud- Mud Futures is a brainchild of Sushant School of Art and Architecture. The institute organizes the workshop on a global platform with students, faculty and alumni from across the world participating in projects, presentations and research activities.
The school organizes other events across the year like PROPOSITION 2020, COLLISION 2020, iPAC 2019, SSAA Trezi, Heritage tours, site visits and webinars.
Campus Life
The lush green campus at Sushant School of Art and Architecture houses excellent infrastructure including air-conditioned classrooms, studios and theatres, a sports complex, fully equipped laboratories and workshops and an amphitheatre for cultural performances and social activities. The sports complex consists of a basketball court, two tennis courts, two volleyball courts, a football ground and cricket nets. Students take part in inter and intra college competitions and are trained by professional coaches.
The campus offers hostel accommodation and lockers for girls and boys. The rooms are spread across six floors with elevator access. The buildings also accommodate meeting rooms, gymnasiums and a common room for indoor games. Recreational facilities on the campus include snack bars, kiosks and a Cafe Coffee Day branch. The entire university is enabled with WIfi. Reputed musicians perform at the School every year for fests and cultural nights.
Admission Requirements
Students can apply for admission to Sushant School of Art and Architecture through their online portal or walk-in to the campus at Gurgaon. Undergraduate programmes in architecture require students to submit their twelfth-grade board scores along with their NATA or JEE paper 2 scores which are considered in 50:50, 40:60 ratios, respectively. The undergraduate programme in Fine Arts requires students to submit their twelfth-grade board scores only.
Masters Programmes require students to appear for a personal interview for selection. Students are admitted to the Doctorate Programmes based on an entrance exam, document screening process and a personal interview.
