Amidst the lush tropical landscape, a residence built with a glued laminated timber (GLT) structure stands out not only for its contemporary aesthetics, but also for its sustainable proposal and respect for the natural surroundings. Located on a 5,000 square meter plot of land, the house combines innovative architecture, thermal comfort and total integration with nature.

The choice of GLT was strategic. In addition to providing visual lightness and structural resistance, the material is produced using a process that optimizes the use of reforested wood, reducing environmental impacts. “GLT allows for large spans and organic shapes, with excellent thermal and acoustic performance,” explains the architect responsible for the project.

With large glass frames and planned openings, the house prioritizes cross ventilation and natural lighting, reducing electricity consumption. The social area connects directly with the outside, creating a continuity between the interior of the house and the tropical garden, where there is a wooden deck and a swimming pool.

Inside, the finishes follow a naturalist language: burnt cement floors, wooden furniture and natural fibers, and neutral tones predominate. The exposed wood of the structure brings warmth and texture to the environment, reinforcing the feeling of welcome.
