This compact 40 m² apartment was designed for short-term rental and perfectly suits two guests. It is located in the very heart of Moscow, right on the Marc Chagall Embankment, where the windows open to views of the city’s vibrant infrastructure and the riverside amphitheater.

The unusual trapezoid layout posed both a challenge and an opportunity. The key was to keep harmony between geometry and palette. A sunny orange became the guiding accent, bringing warmth and energy. Space division is kept minimal: a single partition marks the border between the sleeping nook and the open living area. Alongside a boucle bed and pouf, a compact desk by the window offers a quiet spot for focused work.
To avoid visual clutter, storage is hidden within built-in solutions. Even the kitchen incorporates a small wardrobe. The island, crafted from warm gray engineered stone, anchors the cooking zone, while the former living room was reimagined as a bright social corner with sofa, armchair, and coffee table.
All orange furniture was custom-made to our studio’s sketches. The bathroom unfolds in three parts: the sink is open to the main room, while the shower and toilet are tucked behind frosted glass doors — translucent enough to feel airy, yet private. White mosaic tiles, stainless steel accents, and a niche of three shelves complete the scene.
The hallway echoes the bedroom’s cheerful console in the same vibrant orange tone. Artwork from SAMPLE Gallery, including Alexey Dubinsky’s Muse. Head 3, enriches the atmosphere.
Inspired by Marc Chagall’s sunniest canvases, this apartment was created as a space for imagination, creativity, and simple joy.
