Combining the incongruous

When we talk about a calming, airy interior, a familiar image immediately comes to mind – a light-colored space. But white color, especially if you bet on it, can deprive the environment of volume, make it flat and soulless.

For example, you can’t guess the shade, and there will be a feeling of sterility or emptiness of a white box. Designers added shades, created a game of roughness and smooth surfaces, matte and mirror. It is the harmony of incongruous things that makes this interior special.

Pure white was rejected also because of excessive lighting: the spacious apartment has many panoramic windows. We used natural warm shades of this color: paint in tone with large-format porcelain stoneware on the floor, with a very pleasant relief. When you walk on it barefoot, you feel special tactile sensations that parquet or marble do not cause.

The oversized, proportionally large pieces of furniture only emphasize the volume and lightness of the apartment.

The bedroom: a new experience of rest and sleep

The owners of the apartment dreamed of a bedroom in which they would enjoy relaxation. They turned to Kvadrat architects not for ready-made solutions, but for the experience.

Soft, enveloping shapes, neutral reliefs and calm textures solve the problem of a super-comfortable interior suitable for quality sleep. The shape of the bed is reminiscent of an airy cloud …

Integral and solid

Monolithic, harmony can be traced in every detail of the interior of the bathroom: from the concrete sink, consonant with porcelain tiles, to the lighting. Each element has a weight.

When everything is done in favor of integrity, a single leitmotif, the interior image evokes an unshakable sense of balance and equilibrium.
