Arena Randers is part of a cultural powerhouse in the city of Randers and part of a larger common sports area consisting of Randers Stadium, Water & Wellness, Randers Tennis Hall and the existing three halls, which combined make up Arena Randers.

The existing hall complex has been built over many rounds and has thus been given a complex architectural expression, without a clear hierarchy. Instead of adding another building volume with its own architectural expression to the complex, we have continued Hall 1’s composition and sought a holistic approach that brings together Hall 1 and Hall 4 under one roof. The holistic approach creates a clear hierarchy in the many buildings and at the same time enables an extension in a contemporary architecture.
The new Hall 4 lies on a plateau on the plot in the slightly sloping landscape towards Viborgvej and Gu- denåen. The floating roof of the current Hall 1 will be continued beyond the new Hall 4. At the same time, the lines from the tile volume will be continued into the facade processing of the new hall.
PROJECT TYPE: New holistic approach to Arena Randers, which brings together Hall 1 and Hall 4 under one roof. New hall complex with exhibition and multi-purpose hall for 3,200 seated spectators, arrival area and foyer, as well as a VIP area with space for approx. 600 dining guests.
