The mastermind behind this transformation, Smita Vijayakumar, Founder, reNNovate Interiors says, “It’s unique in the fact that it is an architect’s office with a variety of textures and finishes, helping client understand the materiality better.”

The concept was to be able to explain basic materiality to visitors and clients. The majority of everyday questions designers encounter by the client indicate a clear lack of knowledge about what materials are best suited for which applications. In order to solve that problem, Smita decided to showcase the variety in a non-jarring way. Hence, to emphasize all materials in a beautiful way, she used quartz and tile tops, wall finishes, mouldings, inlays, lighting types, mirror colours, and automation options while keeping the overall colour scheme neutral and subtle offering a sense of pause. Thereby, the workspace reflects her keen eye for design and penchant for constructing luxuriously characterful spaces.

Walls are adorned with artworks spanning a variety of styles, aided by opulent light fixtures. A smoothing look and white and grey tiles create a sense of relaxation in the washroom. In addition, luxurious finishes, tastefully done furnishings, and rich surface applications underscore the overarching visual language including 3D MDF textured boards that can be painted and reflect a beautiful look, fluted MDF panels with laser cutting, wood plastic composites that create a seamless look, HDF extrusions that fill in empty spaces giving your space a luxurious look.

It is therefore a perfect demonstration of how to make best use of materials, thus easing the selection process for the client.
