Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a legend in the field of cricket and a former captain of the Indian Cricket team. He is awarded both the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan as well as the Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna award. A paradigm of success, with his exceptional talent and leadership skills, has brought Indian Cricket to new levels of triumph. Today, he has a collection of envious automobiles and owns luxurious houses, living a king-size life. During the lockdown period, he shifted to his lavish farmhouse along with his family, which was just 20 minutes from his older home on the outskirts of Ranchi. This M.S. Dhoni house is called ‘Kailashpati’. The plot is spreaded over seven acres, and this beautiful dream house took about three years to build. Along with being skilled at sports, he also has an eye for designing too. He is the designer of his farmhouse. This house has everything from grandeur to serenity.

1. Amenities | M.S. Dhoni House

The farmhouse is equipped with an ultra-modern gymnasium. They have an open swimming pool on the backside of the house. The pool looks out on the sunsets in the evening, giving a serene feeling. This pool is surrounded by the lush greenery of the back garden on one side and the house on the other.

2. Architectural Exterior

The house of the ‘Captain Cool’ is a combination of rectangular masses and slopes, with a play of levels. This house is white in appearance with black stonework and has a sloping roof and the materials used are concrete and glass. A classic reference to contemporary architecture.  The sloping roof is covered with black tiles too. 

3. Glass Complex | M.S. Dhoni House

This farmhouse also has a complex made of glass walls and a sloping roof. This complex is specifically built to keep M.S. Dhoni’s most prized possessions, which are his vintage cars and bikes. He owns a huge collection of different motorbikes, including the Confederate Hellcat X32, the Harley-Davidson Fatboy, and a Kawasaki Ninja H2.

4. Green Panther

Dhoni is a nature enthusiast, which is visible in this house. The property is mostly covered with green fields. This area is developed with landscaped gardens and beautiful sit-out spaces. There is a sense of calmness in this outdoor setting allowing them to be close to nature. The family loves to spend their time, along with their four dogs in their open lawn area. There is a separate barbeque space that is used for parties or get-togethers with his extended families, friends, or his team.

5. Outdoor Sports too! | M.S. Dhoni House

The outdoor garden of this house also has a practice field for the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan recipient to stay in form. They have also managed to involve a few workout rooms for other sports as well. 

6. Splendid Entrance

The driveway leading to the house from the gate is made of large cobblestones, surrounded by small gardens that enhance the beauty of the entrance. This driveway leads to a large black wooden door to the family’s house. 

7. Awe-Inspiring Interiors

Dhoni’s love for nature can be seen in his interiors too. There are a few indoor flowering plants inside the house. In the interiors, there is a use of wood and marble flooring. The furnishings in the house are modern and vintage, and have a subdued yet grand vibe to them, and the shades used on the walls are creams, soft yellows, and greys with elegant accents of gold to them.  The couch is a light beige, and yellow cushions compliment them. In their bedroom, there is brown headboard touching the ceiling. These earthy combinations and the use of light colours bring a relaxing feeling to the home, reflecting his personality of calm demeanor.

8. Lit Interiors | M.S. Dhoni House

This house doesn’t usually require artificial lighting as it is lit with natural sunlight throughout the day. That is possible because the house is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows. They also used paintings and modern art to decorate the interior’s of the house. 

9. Passion for Farming

After retirement from International Cricket matches, Dhoni has actively carried out farming in his plot. They grow lots of fruits and vegetables here and also carry out poultry and dairy cattle. They had allowed the general public in the past to visit their farmhouse and buy some cultivated fruits and vegetables for themselves. They grow fruits like strawberries, guava, watermelon, and papayas and vegetables like peas, and capsicum. He also grows wheat on a large scale in his farmhouse. 

10. Animal Lover | M.S. Dhoni House

M.S. Dhoni is an animal lover and owns a variety of pets. He has four pet dogs, Sam (a Belgian Malinois), Lilly and Gabbar—two white huskies, and Zoya, a Dutch Shepherd. The family loves to spend their time with their pets outdoors. Dhoni loves to play and train his dogs. He has an allocated training space designed for them which is particularly planned by him. It also has a resting and playing area for pets. These dogs love to strike a pose for the photo sessions with beautiful garden accessories as a backdrop. The family has also adopted two horses, one of them is named Chetak, and they are seen playing around with the dogs in the garden.
