Client’s Brief

The client sought an office that would reflect the drama and richness of Indian weddings and the sensory indulgence of food, combining two seemingly distinct worlds: the opulence of Indian designs and the sophistication of the west. The space needed to embody these influences, while also serving as a functional hub for client meetings and food tastings.

Site Size and Location

Located in the rapidly developing western part of the city, this project is set within a premium commercial building. Despite the relatively compact size of 475 square feet of carpet area, the design meets the client’s requirements with elegance and efficiency.

About the Space

As you step out of the lift and into the hallway, the office immediately stands out with its bold coral-colored main door, framed by fluted glass, catching the eye in the otherwise neutral corridor. This striking entrance sets the tone for the interior, hinting at the eclectic and vibrant character within.

Upon entering, you’re welcomed by the reception area, which features a stunning stucco wall beautifully complemented by Sabyasachi Nilaya wallpaper, inspired by intricate Indian motifs. This creates a soft, textured backdrop that contrasts beautifully with the bold yet warm design elements throughout the space. The left wall, leading towards the director’s cabin, is a particularly notable feature. A series of framed Indian textiles in a grid pattern adorn this wall, each piece symbolizing the grandeur of traditional Indian weddings. The deliberate use of Banarasi fabric for these frames reflects the cultural richness and historic significance of the textile, imbuing the space with a deep, visual connection to Indian heritage.

The client’s vision for the space was clear: they wanted an atmosphere as dramatic and rich as Indian weddings and cuisine. This vision comes to life through the theme India Meets West, seamlessly blending the elegance and romance of Western design elements with the regal opulence of Indian heritage. The result is an eclectic, vibrant interior featuring bold, earthy tones and botanical wallpapers with indian motifs that mirror the fusion dishes the client creates.

In keeping with the designer’s belief that the act of eating is a holistic sensory experience—one that engages not just the taste buds but also sight, smell, and touch—the design of the space mirrors this philosophy. Every corner of the office has been thoughtfully crafted to evoke a feeling of immersion, much like the culinary experiences that the client offers.

The director’s cabin, a key focal point of the office, features a vintage green cabinet, which stands as a statement piece within the room. This cabinet is used to display crockery and acts as both a functional and aesthetic element, blending with the room’s design language. The choice of overlapping colors, patterns, and textures within the space may seem bold, but it was a deliberate risk—one that reflects the client’s profession and creative approach to food and hospitality.

A wooden table, flanked by chairs in shades of blue and green, further enhances the eclectic vibe, creating an atmosphere that is as visually engaging as it is comfortable. Together, these elements form a cohesive, layered environment that speaks to the brand’s personality and the client’s unique culinary vision.

This office design is not just a space—it is an experience, echoing the celebration of Indian weddings and the sensory joys of fine dining. Through its bold choices and harmonious fusion of textures, colors, and cultural references, it captures the essence of the client’s work while creating an inviting and memorable space for clients and guests alike. The elegantly designed space not only showcases the client’s expertise and capabilities but also instills confidence in their ability to deliver premium-quality food, leaving a lasting impression on potential clients.
