Designed by Ar. Kapil Razdan and Seema Pandey of Arquite, the Ezhomz Experience Centre in Okhla, Delhi, reimagines high-end retail by integrating advanced home automation within recycled brick structures. Technology functions as a subtle ghost in the machine, remaining invisible within the minimalist environment until it is called upon to serve the user, framing luxury not as a display of gadgets, but as a harmonious exchange between historical masonry and modern intelligence.

Rather than struggling against the venue’s low ceilings and limited natural light, the architects turned these constraints into an asset by crafting a subterranean Sanctum of Tranquility. The floor plan breaks away from the conventional open-box layout, dividing the space into distinct functional cells housed inside individual structural vaults. These areas are linked by an elevated granite pathway that emulates the winding, natural flow of a traditional Indian street, effectively cutting off the outside world and setting a contemplative mood for visitors.

The material selection acts as a philosophical foundation, demonstrating how cutting-edge innovation can blend seamlessly with raw, sustainable elements. Ochre bricks arranged in traditional jali patterns offer natural acoustic diffusion for premium audio-visual setups while grounding the high-tech features in a tactile, earthy reality. This warmth is contrasted by dark metal and cement-finished walls. Additionally, the AV room uses backlit translucent acoustic fabric to expose the system’s intricate wiring, turning complex engineering into an artistic display.

Ultimately, the Ezhomz Experience Centre champions a vision of calm technology where sustainable luxury is understated. By anchoring future home automation within timeless building materials like brick and stone, the Arquite team has delivered a lifestyle blueprint where digital innovation enhances the physical environment without creating clutter.
