“Our client sought a home that would foster a tangible connection with natural elements,” says Oksana Petrovska, lead interior designer at SENCE ARCHITECTS. “We achieved this by carefully curating a symphony of textures – from the smooth warmth of wood to the rugged allure of decorative plaster.”

Harmonizing textures

To accentuate the raw, tactile sensations, the design team selected a clay-colored decorative plaster. Handcrafted bas-reliefs with flowing lines adorn the living room and bedroom, serving as both visual art and tactile decor. The natural wood furnishings provide another layer of organic texture, their smooth contours contrasting beautifully with the rougher wall finishes. These carefully considered elements strengthen the connection to natural aesthetics throughout the space.

A palette inspired by nature

The color palette for “Luna” is drawn directly from the natural world, evoking the hues of clay and sand. Warm wooden accents infuse the space with a cozy, character-rich ambiance. Furniture and decorative pieces from renowned Ukrainian makers introduce vibrant pops of color, adding depth and dynamism to the overall atmosphere.

Thoughtful contrasts

Strategic use of accent colors prevents monotony and imbues each zone with a distinct vitality. Terracotta and graphite tones play a key role, subtly accentuating and differentiating the various areas within the apartment.

The result is a harmonious interplay of shades and textures that transforms “Luna” into a sensory-rich, nature-inspired haven – a testament to SENCE ARCHITECTS’ commitment to creating spaces that transcend the visual and engage the senses in keeping with the modern Ukrainian design movement’s emphasis on organic integration.
