This piece speaks to a shared feeling: being stepped on, pressured, dominated by something or someone. Each person knows what — or who — is weighing them down. We can think of many reasons ourselves…
Project Name: They Step on Us
Studio Name: luzinterruptus

The installation consists of a large number of long, white, soft, translucent legs suspended from above and lit from within with cool light. Some reach the ground, others float at different heights, creating a dense, chaotic, immersive atmosphere.

Visitors are invited to walk through the space, to touch, hug, push, or interact with the elements — giving the piece its own kind of life.
These “legs” are not off-the-shelf items. Each one is custom-made using elastic translucent fabric, with a metal ring sewn into the top to allow for individual suspension. Inside, a low-voltage LED provides uniform lighting.

The piece is designed to adapt to different spaces — indoors or outdoors — suspended from ceilings or its own structure. Its scale, shape and density shift with each site, making every version unique.

Because sometimes, what presses on us can’t be seen… until we shine a light on it.
