We live in a world driven by technology and scientific inventions. Architecture has a close relation to science. It is the science of creating comfortable spatial features where people spend a reasonable amount of time. Architecture responds to the needs and features of the site. Surely, architecture will stand the test of time since it is needed to fulfil the basic needs of human beings. Does the evolving science and technology affect the spaces created? How will our personal future space will be defined?

Universal Design Features | Future Spaces

Universal designs are accessible to everyone regardless of age, gender, physical condition, or movement. It provides solutions for the accessibility and usability of functions and services independently. Many designs presently include universal design, but the idea of universal design is limited. At present, inclusivity is an issue. Technology enhances the shift and adaptability of design and inclusivity. The flow of space can be designed freely, providing continuous movement inside and out. Equal rights are desirable when it comes to creating spaces and living environments. Safe to say, it would be possible where every person has a place for themselves in the future.

Sustainable Spaces

Sustainability aims to leave a good share of resources to the coming generations. Emerging global problems are concerns of the built environment. Sustainability takes the cup to create a better future. In the future green cities, organic and original designs will be favoured. With the abundance of green spaces and environmental hazards can be reduced. Renewable resources will be used actively and wisely. The number of smart buildings will increase, promoting the use of natural light and airflow into the building. Users can convert usable spaces from homes to offices and more to reduce the number of built structures. Flexible settings of shared spaces or interiors will be possible with technology. It ensures close contact with people that opens up more diverse ideas. Waste management will play a significant role in green cities where toxic wastes are managed efficiently, and the remaining may be recycled or reused. Cleaner energy sources are the first step to providing a sustainable environment.

Micro Climate | Future Spaces

Closely related to sustainability and green architecture, microclimate plays a role in regulating thermal comfort. The microclimate cools down the surroundings naturally, with the increase of green spaces in the urban fabric. Although microclimates can be altered artificially, people can ensure a healthier environment through organic sources. It also helps to improve the quality of living.

All the active and passive design strategies applied to designs today have an impact on their users. Many factors affect the microclimate of a building, including its location, topography, landscape, materials used, solar path, etc. With the help of advanced technology, these factors can be made to the advantage of design thus, help to create a comfortable microclimate.

Constructing Deep

Constructing useful Basements_©https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/could-your-home-be-enhanced-by-a-basement-find-out-here-stsetivw-vs~77827311

Architecture is not just building upwards; it can also extend to a more secure space underneath. Architects are discussing a way to make basements a popular option for construction. They are an excellent step towards sustainability since sub-structures generally have a lower temperature than the super-structures by a few degrees at least. Underground construction is also time and energy-saving since the ground provides a solid base, and rooms can be easily constructed. Such structures generally have low maintenance. Of course, there are limitations to construction structures underground on safety and fresh air flow. Most specialists believe that basements can be utilized wisely rather than pushed aside for parking or services.

Technology can push the limits to regulate the temperature and moisture level underground and therefore predict how deep the structures can be built.

The world is now in a run to witness the tallest building ever built. Modern construction has proved that sky is not the limit. Lighter building materials, paired with stunning designs and technologies, will result in many more skyscrapers overlooking cities in the future with lesser energy consumption.

Smart Cities

The future of intelligent cities comes with ease in connecting people with built surroundings. It is eco-friendly since they provide optimum services like temperature control, water pumping system, safety, security, etc., and does not require manual control. Bright spaces provide interconnectivity within the different functional areas. Users are given control over all settings with the help of sensors, and artificial intelligence (AI) is applied. The innovative system is popular since it can be controlled remotely, which aids to great advantage.

Modular Design

The main goal of modular design is to reduce complexity in the built environment. Prefabrication of spaces is economical, time-saving, and energy efficient and requires a lesser workforce. Since the structure is assembled on-site, it is safer for the environment reducing wastage during the construction process. Users can get their desired spaces within a shorter time than with traditional construction. Ideally, technology can find methods to construct and assemble.

Future spaces are most likely environmentally friendly, ready to use, and time and energy-saving. Creative designers are considering how to reduce the problems caused due to construction and manage waste. It is certain that in the future, people from diverse communities will have a harmonious living environment since architects look into how to include people from everywhere, regardless of their backgrounds. There will be many changes in the future in our lives and the way we carry forward. Architects in the future must adapt to the possibilities of technology while looking out for generations to come.
