The residence is designed on a narrow 78′ x 36′ south-facing plot, covering an area of 2,830 square feet, and expands into a 5,150 square foot multi-level home that expertly blends privacy, openness, and fluid spatial movement.

Upon first view, the home’s most defining feature is its bold cantilevered shape, where volumes seem to hover effortlessly.

This sculptural arrangement is not just about appearance but also serves a practical purpose. A carefully planned vertical wall on the west side functions as a climate buffer, protecting the interior and outdoor spaces from intense sunlight while maintaining privacy in a densely populated area. The facade is adorned with layered materials, including WPC cladding, exposed concrete finishes, and stone textures, which add warmth and dimension, giving the building a modern yet enduring character.

Inside, the design centers around a dramatic triple-height central open space—an interpretation of the traditional Indian chowk.

This vertical void is crowned with a skylight and acts as the core of the house, visually and spatially linking all three levels. Natural light flows through the center, reducing the need for artificial lighting, and creates a dynamic interaction of light and shadow throughout the day. Glass railings and open passageways keep sightlines unobstructed, promoting a sense of continuity between public, semi-private, and private areas.

The ground floor features a spacious, fluid layout where the living room, dining area, and kitchen are aligned along a 60-foot visual axis.

Sliding partitions allow these spaces to shift from open, communal areas to more private settings as needed. The upper floors house generously sized bedrooms, each with a unique material choice, yet unified by the use of oak laminates, fluted panels, and refined textures. Balconies project outward, reinforcing the home’s connection with light and air.

The second floor is dedicated to wellness and relaxation, including a yoga room, storage space, and a semi-covered open terrace ideal for family gatherings.

Thoughtfully designed walls provide shade without limiting airflow, making these outdoor spaces comfortable and usable year-round.

The Cantilevered Cube House is ultimately a study in balance—between boldness and restraint, strength and lightness, privacy and openness.

Through turning spatial restrictions into opportunities, the project redefines contemporary urban living, offering not just a home, but a thoughtfully designed sanctuary.
