Planned for a large joint family, the home distinctly separates private spaces from social zones. The central dining area acts as the heart of the house, seamlessly linking the formal and intimate areas.
Materially, the interiors reflect warmth and sophistication, American Walnut veneer, Burberry Beige Italian marble, and subtle brass accents come together under soft daylight filtering through skylights and tall windows. This interplay of natural light and rich textures transforms the home into a serene, layered living experience where tradition meets contemporary elegance.

The design of this residence emerges from the idea of creating a modern home that still carries the soul of traditional architecture. It is an attempt to reinterpret the timeless values of proportion, connection, and material honesty within a contemporary framework. The result is a home that feels rooted and familiar yet refined and forward-looking in its expression.
The architectural massing follows a parts-to-whole approach, clusters of varying volumes
arranged carefully to form a cohesive whole. This composition allows the building to breathe, introducing light-filled voids and courtyards that bring nature into the domestic realm. These open pockets act as visual and thermal reliefs while blurring the line between interior and exterior. The design celebrates openness and connection but in a way that maintains privacy and intimacy where needed.

The client, a large joint family, sought a home that could balance togetherness with individuality. Their brief revolved around two broad categories, the public and private domains. While the social zones needed to accommodate family gatherings and guests, the private areas had to offer moments of quiet and retreat. The plan was thus developed around a central dining space, the heart of the house, that links the formal living areas in the front with the bedrooms and intimate spaces at the rear. This spatial organization not only enhances visual continuity but also establishes a natural hierarchy of movement through the home.

With a built-up area of [add AREA], the house rises two storeys high, its strong exterior walls creating a sense of enclosure and protection. From the outside, it appears almost fortress-like, a calm, grounded presence on the site. Yet within this defined boundary unfolds an eclectic world of openness, texture, and light. Subtle interconnections between spaces ensure fluid circulation while offering moments of pause and privacy as one moves through the home.

Materiality plays a key role in shaping the atmosphere of the interiors. The palette is refined yet tactile, American Walnut veneer adds warmth and depth; Burberry Beige Italian marble lends softness and continuity; and brass details bring an understated touch of luxury. These materials come alive under natural light streaming in through floor-to-ceiling windows and strategically placed skylights, which enhance the play of texture and tone throughout the day.
The interiors, though contemporary in detailing, resonate with the sensibilities of traditional homes, an emphasis on natural materials, layered transitions between spaces, and an inherent connection to nature. Each element, from the earthy hues of the finishes to the carefully chosen accessories, contributes to an overall sense of timeless elegance.

The residence ultimately stands as a dialogue between old and new, enclosure and openness, simplicity and sophistication. It celebrates the essence of family living while offering an environment of calm, comfort, and refined beauty, a modern architectural expression deeply rooted in the spirit of tradition.
