Luxury and preferences define the overall design of any space, which is probably why this residence is a fusion of contemporary architectural design and chic minimalist interiors. Every element of this 10900 sq.ft. house is captivating, with a modern facade, layered accents, well-manicured landscape, and chic spaces that create a world of soft embrace for its residents. “The homeowners dreamed of a residence that was timeless and evergreen. This inclination led us to select a classical theme, ensuring the design remained elegant and enduring across time. Hence, we followed a minimalist theme for the interiors of the house. The design incorporated mild contrasts and fresh colours, creating a harmonious and refreshing aesthetic”, says Ar. Gagandeep Kapila, Founder and Principal Architect at Workshop for Metropolitan Architecture. Drawing inspiration from the lush greenery of the Delhi Zoological Forest in front, the layout and interior design are carefully crafted to establish a strong connection with the natural surroundings. This very idea begins at the facade of the residence, evoking a contemporary edge with linear proportions and sleek materials. “Luxury lives in the details, and simplicity enhances its grandeur. Hence, small cantilevered balconies with stone cladding and wooden accents, add to the modern aesthetics. Large glass fenestrations, strategically placed openings, and louvered edges allow natural light to flood into the interiors”, explains Ar. Bhuvan Kapila.

Stepping into the interiors, every space is a narrative in itself! The entrance door is a duco-painted surface with glass accents, welcoming one to what awaits inside. Zoning across three floors- the Ground floor, designed for the parents, the first floor allocated for the son and his family, and the second floor for social gatherings. The foyer is adorned with Satvario marble flooring and a sleek console with brass accents, enhances the space. Further, what captures attention is the grand living area with sumptuous sofas and textile armchairs, which redefines the allure of chic minimalism. The walls are accentuated with carefully chosen wallpaper, complemented by champagne leafing to add a subtle touch of sophistication.  Pops of colour are introduced through accent chandeliers, which enhance the overall aesthetic. Baccarat crystal chandeliers imported from Italy serve as statement pieces and act as artistic accents, highlighting the grandeur of the interiors. Adding more to it, “Chic interiors, minimalist accents—because less is truly more when done with class. The formal living area is draped in neutral tones and classical furniture style, adding a sense of luxury to the space. It features classical lines, harmonising with the overall aesthetic. Further, with upholstered in muted tones and premium fabrics, the pieces enhance comfort while maintaining an understated elegance”, asserts Gagandeep.

Fondly, the lobbies of the residence are done with curved haunches and wainscotted walls topped with botanical printed wallpapers. The flooring in a herringbone pattern adds character while mouldings offer subtle elegance. The lobby leads to an informal lounge with a bar area and chic furnishing. Blue patterned flooring with hints of greenery adds colour to the overall spaces. French-style doors foster a sense of connectivity with other spaces. A captivating botanical mural in an arched-shaped design juxtaposed the space, lending an element of intrigue. Statement lighting, warm wood finishes, and vibrant accents are infused to create a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere. Further, the dining area in the residence evokes a minimal elegance with chic accents. Wingback chairs and ornate gilded accents, complete the space with sophistication. The adjacent lobbies akin to immersive galleries, narrate an interesting fusion of materials.

Moving towards the private abodes on the first floor, every bedroom follows a unique aesthetic. The master bedroom follows a serene atmosphere with neutral hues with complementing textiles upholstery. Textured wall surfaces and Roman blinds curate a tranquil atmosphere in the space. A cosy nook adjacent to the window offers tranquil views of the surroundings- a cosy respite in the spaces! The eclectic elements bring personality and vibrancy to the spaces, with unique accents like statement chandeliers and subtle contrasts. On the other hand, the kid’s bedroom mimics a wonderland story with patterns, whimsical elements and twin beds. Cosy corners and play areas turn the space into a haven of dreams. Here, the modern classic approach adds a contemporary edge to the overall design, highlighting clean lines, functionality, and a minimal yet sophisticated colour palette. The second floor, designed for social gatherings, incorporates a party hall featuring a dramatic 30-foot-high ceiling to enhance the grandeur of the space. This area includes striking chandeliers, bold design accents, and expansive open spaces to accommodate social gatherings. Rich materials and textures were used to ensure the space feels opulent yet inviting. The scale of the ceiling is complemented by luxurious materials, dramatic lighting, and intricate detailing, making the party hall an epitome of sophistication and elegance. This unique space combines functionality with visual impact, setting the residence apart and making it a true statement of timeless luxury.

The residential design works on the basis of sustainability, aligning with modern eco-conscious practices. The house operates entirely on solar energy, ensuring an energy-efficient solution for various needs. Moreover, the external fenestration is designed with weather-sealed, ethically sourced, and treated engineered wood. The project follows the “Make in India” philosophy, emphasising locally sourced and manufactured elements to support regional industries. This commitment to sustainability is integrated with the luxurious and classical feel of the house, ensuring that eco-friendly practices merge with the design’s sophistication and functionality. The residence also incorporates landscaped areas with outdoor seating areas and sculptures. Extended patios incorporate seating, while planned greenery adds life to the space.
