A quest for experiences within the walls of a home.

Catering to the client’s brief of “maintaining an understated austerity”, this apartment is designed as a classical-contemporary duo. A spacious living room with glimpses of creative corners introduces a sense of spatial luxury within the home. A panelling in charred grey with wainscoting detail forms the backdrop of this lounge-like living space. The flooring in black marble inlay work maintains an indo-classical ambience \. Articulate lighting with appropriate lux levels sets a tone of plushness throughout the space. A noble hardwood veneer wall with a protruding black marble TV unit makes the elevation look charming. A lovely window shines natural light onto the chic dining area while the adjoining opening is quietly positioned next to the family space. A mix of traditional and modern – displayed by a handcrafted blue and gold carpet layered atop imported furnishings. Additionally, the dining space showcases a collection of artefacts through the distinctive built-in wall made of foil lamination and hardwood veneer.

The showstopper is a porcelain chandelier specially customised and installed to float above the traditional dining room area. In addition, the mobile, cosy dining chairs covered in vibrant green velvet make the space more lively. Tying with the contemporary ambience, the custom-made Shrinathji frame in a gorgeous black sits on an intricate ribbed marble wall. The nooks and nudges of the architectural layout are cleverly occupied with hidden storage, services and wiring conduits to maintain the seamless look and feel. For example, a high-tech air-conditioning packaged unit with slim modules is concealed within the conventional 6-inch false ceiling to avoid loss of clear height. This living room is a spectacle of diverse detailing with elements like low-height seating, large accent pieces and extravagant intelligent home features.

A flexible glass door takes one to the gorgeous kitchen space, designed to give a holistic and assertive experience. A beautiful island in white marble is enveloped by counter space on all three sides. Ample storage, easy-to-maintain surfaces and pockets of functional appropriation make this kitchen a dream come true. Moreover, appliances like a touch-screen refrigerator, high-tech coffee machine, teppanyaki or a custom control wine chiller add to the impressive statement of luxury devised for the family. Additionally, a gorgeous base space contributes to the upscale splendour intended for the habitants.

A seamless door concealed in the living room elevations, opens up to an indo-modern bedroom space meant for the grandparents and other guests. This bedroom displays a contemporary love of brown and grey on a white background, highlighted by  white embellishments and edgings. A soft grey headboard hides behind the bed’s brown walnut veneer on the main wall. The space is efficiently occupied by  two mobile single beds Sliding reading lamps, simple nightstands, and cosy fabrics that create a comfortable, uncomplicated atmosphere.

The master bedroom has an extended range of extravagant furnishings and experiences, marked by overtones of its gentle veneer, gold inlaid ceiling, traditional oak floors, and unique planters. A stunning custom king-sized bed interacts with modern freestanding television and edge-to-edge wall coverings. For visual separation, a lovely marble ceiling separates the closet space. A large wardrobe with glass shutters and a specially designed vanity table with a velvet ottoman create the impression of being in a famous green room. The bathroom wall, a tried-and-true design element composed of planters enclosed in fluted glass, adds to the primary suite’s opulent aura. The elaborate brass and gold décor in the bedroom and bathroom area connect the vast open space.

The son’s bedroom is a robust palette of terrazzo stone with contemporary shades like matt black and tangerine. In addition, this room showcases unconventional sensibilities like a window as a bed-back, a corner library unit and minimal accents. While the son’s space has a sober and earthy vibe, the daughter’s bedroom is a fresh wave of brightness from blue and white. The full-length closet cleverly hides civil changes to incorporate lavish and efficient storage. The gorgeous study table extended as the dressing is the star element for this room. The intelligent home modules of lighting and audio systems are replicated in the bedroom space for optimal functionality.
