Designed as an entertainment space, House IX features a master suite and a guest bedroom, shaped by the clients’ vision of a tactile, grounded aesthetic that sets it apart from their primary home. Kiran Gala & Associates’ signature approach shines through in the thoughtful interplay of materials that evolve gracefully over time. The design moves beyond a purely rustic language by incorporating carefully curated artwork and accessories, complemented by striking blue and rust accents that lend the interiors a dynamic yet elegant character. Intricate ceiling details and a seamlessly integrated air conditioning system further elevate the space’s sophistication.

Upon entering, the open-plan living and dining area extends an inviting embrace, framed by lush green views from the balcony. The dining space subtly highlights a Smeg refrigerator, positioned as a deliberate focal point within a bespoke credenza designed to echo its form and hue. A discreetly tucked-away kitchenette and store room enhance functionality, leading towards the master suite. Complete with a private balcony, the master bedroom features a spacious walk-in area that flows into an en-suite bathroom. On the opposite end, a utility room and an intimate guest bedroom contribute to the home’s thoughtful spatial planning.

The material palette establishes a refined, monochromatic foundation, combining grey flooring tiles, taupe stucco walls, and beige veneer to achieve a cohesive visual harmony. In the master suite, warm wooden flooring pairs with accents of travertine marble and fluted panelling, enhancing the space’s understated opulence. The guest bedroom introduces a subtle variation with striped wallpaper, adding depth while maintaining tonal balance. Throughout the home, carefully curated colour accents enliven the earthy tones, while delicate brass detailing punctuates the design with quiet sophistication.

A striking expression of sustainability emerges in the dining table, crafted from repurposed materials salvaged from the site. Composed of meticulously arranged marble remnants and fluted veneer legs, this bespoke piece exemplifies the project’s commitment to mindful resource use without sacrificing elegance.
