The interior of this apartment, located near the center of Moscow in the new Fili City residential complex, was realized by Vladimir Afanasev for customers who have already applied to him for a project. This time they completely relied on the taste of the designer. The customers agreed on an approximate budget, gave the designer the keys and next time they came to the facility only six months later, the day before the photoshoot. The task was to make a liquid apartment for long-term rental.

The original layout of the apartment did not involve binding to load-bearing partitions. On an area of forty-five square meters, it was possible to place everything you need: a kitchen-living room, a bedroom, an entrance hall and a bathroom. In addition, in agreement with the developer, it was possible to move the wet kitchen area a little, due to this, a separate dressing room-laundry room appeared in the project, which allowed hiding all household functions.
“After received carte blanche, I decided to move away from the traditional neutral palette for apartments for rent and create an interior in which I could live myself. Authentic, vivid, contrasting, geometric. I didn’t want accents; I wanted a celebration. So, the colors used as a basis are used in large, equivalent volumes. Turquoise, white, gray, red and terracotta. My love of geometry is reflected in the whole interior: rounded corners of the bathroom, rhythmic layout of the tiles of the apron and the walls of the bathroom, wallpaper of the living room, the breakdown of wall coloring.”
The hallway, which is quite dark and painted with a deep terracotta color along with the ceiling, smoothly turns into a bright, well-lit living room due to the quoting of colors. The same color is used as the main one for the bathroom, the functional area of which is highlighted by rhythmically laid out finely formatted tiles.
On the contrary, it was decided to make the bedroom dark, but connect it with the rest of the rooms by partially quoting colors and a bright red door leading into it. Italian vintage sconces and a chair from the 70s gave comfort and completeness to its design.
All metal products console and bedside tables in the bedroom accessories in the bathroom are completely individual and were made according to the designer’s drawings in a single copy specifically for this project.
Art occupies a special place in the interior. It took quite a lot of time and fittings to find the perfect pieces of art. But in the end, everything fell into place and gave this small apartment a special charm.
