In October 2023, we handed over a project that transformed two separate flats into a duplex home, where the age-old traditions of the Marwari culture found harmonious resonance with contemporary elegance. What made this project truly unique was the embodiment of three generations living under one roof. The close-knit family comprised of grandparents, parents, and two musically inclined sons, each with their distinct tastes and personalities. This diversity became the touchstone upon which our design narrative unfolded.

Openness & Inclusivity:
One of the most intriguing aspects of this project was the close-knit, multi-generational living arrangement. It was essential to create a space that represented the family’s core values of togetherness and inclusivity.
They have a huge expanded family and friends and thus host many social gatherings. To foster a sense of togetherness and inclusivity, walls were dismantled, creating an open and fluid space that allowed each room to converse seamlessly with its neighbour. This not only established a sense of spaciousness but also reinforced the family’s values of unity.
Subtle Luxury:
The challenge was to infuse luxury into the space without overwhelming it. The family desired an ambience of opulence but without an ostentatious display. Thus, we achieved this balance through a meticulous selection of muted subtle colour palettes, Minimal textures and premium materials, ensuring that the essence of luxury was never overstated but elegantly embraced. To encapsulate the essence of Marwari traditions, we introduced an old vintage wall panel adorned with Gujarat’s heritage handblocks, adding a touch of classic charm to the contemporary design.
Jewel of the house – Dining Area
The family’s aspiration for a remarkable dining area was realized with the inclusion of an exquisite Italian Lenzi marble dining table, graced by tan-coloured leather chairs. This choice not only exuded sophistication but also broke away from the subdued colour palette, serving as the ‘stunner’ of the house.
The multi-generational duplex home was a tribute to the unity of tradition, understated luxury, and personal preferences. This project was a journey of creating a space that transcended generations, celebrated heritage, and truly felt like home.

This multi-generational space accommodates grandparents, parents and two sons, embodying the family’s core values of togetherness and inclusivity.
The challenge was to create a space conducive to unity, accommodating the expanded family and social gatherings. Walls were dismantled to establish an open and fluid layout, fostering seamless communication between rooms and embodying the family’s commitment to unity.
To balance opulence with subtlety, we chose muted color palettes, minimal textures and premium materials. An old vintage wall panel adorned with Gujarat’s heritage handblocks in the Living Room added classic charm, seamlessly blending tradition with modern design.
We materialized the family’s aspiration for a remarkable dining area with an exquisite Italian Lenzi marble table and tan-colored leather chairs. This choice served as the focal point, exuding sophistication and breaking away from the subdued palette.
This multi-generational duplex home stands as a tribute to the unity of tradition, understated luxury, and personal preferences. Our journey went beyond visual appeal, aiming to craft a home that transcends generations, celebrates heritage, and genuinely feels like home.
