It is situated in Binckhorst, a former industrial area that has already been under transformation for some years. I proposed an urban rehabilitation and development plan for a larger area, using the municipality’s future guidelines for this specific zone.

In this proposition, the historic monuments of the area are rehabilitated, preserving their original industrial style, while new constructions are built, adapting to the former landscape.
The project highlights one of the central high-rise buildings, which has been given an interesting unusual form as a result of the urban concept.

As most of the surrounding projects, it is a mixed-use building, including shops, office spaces and residential functions. Its raster façade is covered with precast concrete cladding, adding depth and contrast to its appearance. The nearly zero energy building uses a vertical geothermal heat pump system and rainwater harvesting.
