These buildings were originally constructed by Grandmaster Pinto to be used as stores by the Knights of St. John. Today, the heritage buildings have been transformed into a variety of restaurants, retail outlets and office spaces.
Hard Rock Café Valletta occupies Vault 17 within the historic warehouse complex.
The design brief for our project was a complete overhaul of existing restaurant where only the historic stone fabric of the building was maintained. The dining and bar areas have been designed using loose furniture in the central part and fixed bench seating along stone walls.
Decorative metal structures have been designed to allow music instruments to be displayed to guests without impairing the historic walls and vault ceilings. Additional small retail space has been created by the main entrance.
