Here are 9 Products designed by Karten Design;
1. Med vector: | Karten Design
With the ever rise in patient recruitment in the clinical industry and the delay in the release of medications; a startup Med Vector along with Karten design developed a telemedicine solution that could increase the speed of clinical trials and its accuracy. The design consisted of a compact ruggedized aluminum case that organizes all the required equipment into a self- contained kit. This kit consists of diagnostic equipment for internet connectivity; with its sleek simplicity, it makes an obvious set-up kit for professionals.
2. Nevro:
The complexity in neuromodulation for pain control led to the designing of a less complex guide to ensure the treatment in the industry named as Nevro. It came as a need to organize comprehensive information in an easy-to-use workflow. Karten design created a modern aesthetic system and simplified it with user interface decreasing the complexity of it with the introduction of expanding window design, which created a larger workspace area.
3. Vessix
Hypertension is one of the conditions which has affected the majority of the population these days. Renal Denervation is one of the promising catheter-based outpatient treatments for the resistance of the same. Vessix performs this treatment faster than any other device and is done in only 30 seconds, helping users through the process in 6 screens with the help of a single push button. The design of the device is simple, restrained form, and special care is taken on the texture and contrast which draws people deeper into the product.
4. Axonics
An emerging therapy known as neuromodulation is being used to treat conditions like chronic pain, headaches, and tremors, using mild electrical pulses to stimulate targeted nerves inside the body. Axonics is a device that is just one-third size of the neuromodulation devices. Its system consists of the portable inductive charging device, a handheld remote for adjusting the stimulation levels, and to check battery status. The device is made simpler with a view of simplifying the techniques for doctors and health professionals.
5. Ortho Sonos: | Karten Design
Keeping in mind the requirement of minimal new skills, equipment, or maintenance, Karten design developed a system for orthopedics- Orthosonos. This monitors with the help of sound waves to detect the early stage of osteoarthritis. The system consists of a large touch screen and vivid interface which helps the medical professionals and patients to view test results together.
6. Percussionaire:
This is a re-designed system for respiratory care. The original system of Percussionaire was designed by Dr. Forrest Bird almost 30 years ago. This device was used the same way till Karten design re-designed it with a new touch panel display along with the details in form, design, color, materials, finishes, and graphics to connect with respiratory therapists. So far, the re-designed product is functionally responsive to the various use cases and has been able to meet the need of health professionals along with the patients with improved user feedback and applies a hierarchical approach to the layout of physical controls.
7. Cardiac Science:
Cardiac arrest is one of the major reasons for sudden deaths wherein, defibrillators are the lifesavers, but the rescuers have to be fast. Cardiac Science has the built-in defibrillator algorithm that detects abnormal heart rhythm and therein automatically delivers a corrective shock. This is a user-friendly device with strategic visuals, color and forms work even during high-pressure scenarios. An oversized handle along with spring-loaded hinges and the key touchpoints makes the operation seamless.
8. Halyard: | Karten Design
Opioids are majorly used after surgery to control pain. While the consumption of opioids seems simpler to prescribe but it has an adverse effect on the patient affecting the respiratory system, depression, confusion, addiction. According to a survey, 48 million Americans suffer from hearing loss, but on average a person waits seven years from the time a hearing aid could help until purchasing a set. Starkey is known for its most technologically advanced hearing aids. Karten design helped in the re-designing set by the introduction of the first touch-operated system. With a dynamic new design language that borrows visual cues from modern architecture, jewelry, and automotive design, we’ve helped overcome the stigma surrounding hearing aids while making them easier to use.
