In an era where raw materials are increasingly rare, irrespective of their origin or nature, the act of crafting new objects becomes an especially compelling endeavor. Fast climatic, economic, and social changes are compelling us to reconsider how we utilize raw materials.

Concrete, deemed one of the most utilized materials globally, stands as a significant environmental challenge in terms of climate change. The extensive sand extraction (6 billion tons annually) and greenhouse gas emissions during its production (constituting 7% of global CO2 emissions) position it as a major source of pollution. This underscores the need to reimagine its applications, especially considering plastic waste as both a future source of refuse and a potential reservoir of materials worthy of valorization.
