The proposal developed for the central hub building at TagusPark aims to create a
monumental entrance that elevates and dignifies the existing facilities. For this reason, the
intervention designed by Contacto Atlântico seeks a solution with its own identity. At the
same time, it engages coherently with the artworks already present across the Taguspark
complex, as well as with the language of the Urban Art Museum.

The concept began with an initial façade premise that included a revolving door. However, it became necessary to adapt the existing entrances in order to comply with current fire safety regulations. As a result, the design safeguards functionality and improves the flow of access.

In addition, the canopy now provides permanent protection from weather conditions. It also creates a more welcoming atmosphere at the entrance area. Finally, it defines a temporary waiting space, which strengthens the user experience upon arrival.

The element is finished with a guard where lacquered metal profiles are integrated. These
profiles are chromatically aligned with the existing frames. Therefore, the intervention
maintains material and visual consistency throughout.

As in the wider Taguspark context—where each intervention often carries a symbolic and
artistic dimension—this proposal also includes an additional meaning. The arrangement of
the metal profiles allows the word “Taguspark” to be read in Morse code. In this way, the
ensemble gains a subtle narrative. Moreover, it reinforces a distinctive identity through a
quiet, precise gesture.
