Studio 06 is Turin, Italy based design studio founded in 2006 by the architect Massimo Guglielotto, the architect Paolo Mattiolo, the engineer Roberto Guarini, and later joined by the architect Luca Casale in 2018. It specializes in architecture, interior design, and product design. From its early year, the studio has found its recognition through winning numerous competitions. After winning many such awards and earning publications in renowned magazines, it has become a studio that can manage even the most complex projects through all design phases from implementation to intervention.

1. Sardinia exterior

Sardinia is the second-largest island of the Mediterranean sea and one of the 20 regions of Italy. The project was to design the exterior of a Villa in Sardinian style in the gulf of orange trees located in Sassari, Italy. Studio 06 along with Veretto Design completed the project in 2019.

2. San Benigno House

Located in Turin, Italy the project was to reform an old dilapidated farmhouse into a modern villa. The distinctive element of this modern villa is the red septum which rises to two floors transitioning living and sleeping spaces with an exposed staircase. With glass windows, double-height roof, and skylight window roof it creates a dominance of the composition of the project through balance.

3. Easel

The painter’s Easel, a symbol of craftsmanship and tradition made for Florim showroom. The project was specially mentioned at the “Exhibit” competition organized by Florim. The aim was to showcase exhibited photographs as a work of art through the minimal design of stands. The two main elements include the main arm and the movable arm in traditional Italian structural designs.

4. Bauhaus Museum Dessau

In 2015 The Foundation Bauhaus Dessau decided a competition to design a Bauhaus Dessau Museum where Studio 06 proposed its design inspired by the Kite festival of Bauhaus. They took the idea of the kite itself as a covering and created a reflection, insinuating curiosity, and waving goodbye to the equinox.

5. Home Sweet Home

It is a refined design of a coffee machine with the idea of taking something like a technical machine to make it more of a design icon for both home and office purposes.

6. Cirié House

A Villa was designed in the style of the 1960s on a Mezzanine floor with a four-pitched roof. Its asymmetry in contrast to the static nature of its volumetric composition. The project was completed in 2014 in Turin, Italy.

7. Origamo

It is a living room table designed. Its inspiration is derived by the Japanese culture of folding paper as it uses a metal sheet folded and engraved with laser cutting to add charisma to it. Its main feature is that it looks different from each angle.

8. Albignasego Theatre

Mentioned in the Municipal Theatre and Public Park in the Municipality of Albignasego. The design aims at the municipal theatre and Public Park to merge and harmonize together. With the idea of open ground as the “perspective portal” framing the park while distributing all the access. It runs in the axis of the city overlooking the countryside.

9. Aroma Cafѐ

In 2013, along with Casale Mattiolo Architetti, Studio 06 designed a Cafѐ with a wall as its main element personalizing the project. With wooden slats as resting walls, until they gradually rotate to create using spaces, giving a dynamic and rhythmic look to the cafѐ. Hidden and lowering light used brings a more composed and elegant look to the project as a whole.

10. Campus San Paolo

Studio 06 won second place in IdeaTO x Campus San Paolo design competition for a student complex. The design used chromatic textures, all diverse present in the symbol of Olympic circles. The flooring symbolizes the unification of students in the representation of the ocean with added monolithic elements characterized by soft and organic lines.

11. ICS

ICS Stool is a versatile object made of folds in a single sheet of iron with lightweight visuals. Its clear compositional reduction makes it an intimate product of furnishing.

12. Collegno Apartment

The renovation project of an apartment in Turin was done with creating a large open living space as the beating heart of the house. The pillars that generally create a problem were turned into a series of illuminated and display niches.

13. Cityall Bodø

In the 2013 proposal of Town Hall of Norway, Studio 06 proposed a space inspired by ‘Piazza di Spagna’ in Rome; where staircase as a meeting space, and generating element of the design path and thus becoming the covering of the Hall. With a restaurant on the top floor, it overlooks the

14. Furà

It is a suspension lamp that draws inspiration from nature. A cave-like lamp with light as its protagonist, its interior includes contour lines to give depth to the play of light and shadow. The designer says it ‘as if the rock was pierced by the passage of light.’

15. Hair Stylist Salon

Located in Turin, the project was developed as a thematic itinerary to obtain a warm and material environment. The furniture is designed to give maximum aesthetic to the place. With the use of Bamboo canes, spaces are divided at the entrance.
