
Dencity design, located in Atlanta, USA is a three-partner architectural firm procuring their establishments in residential projects. With a belief that design starts from one’s own home, this firm helps in building one’s dream house ensuring longevity, cohesivity, and sustainability. Their built spaces intricately show the sensitivity of design at every small stage in and around the house. Apart from fulfilling all the given requirements, the focus also lies on the material palette, construction efficiency and methods, exploration, analysis, and critical thinking and expressive strong drawings. They have commenced successfully with 26 residential projects in America till now out of which 15 most interesting are listed below:
1. Kohlsdorf Residence
A unique custom-built modern home design, Kohlsdorf, also known as Senegal, is located in Sandy Springs, Atlanta sprawling with nature around and a lake below. The structural design portrays high-performance insulated storefront glass, insulated foundation walls with design principles including passive solar design and overhangs to minimize direct sun radiations. The three-floored structure is accessed by a floating staircase. It showcases cantilevered exterior decks supported by steel beams lined with Egyptian stone and IPE as a unique veneer.



2. 64 Montgomery Residence
This residence is an amalgamation of thorough contextual analysis and it’s a response to the surrounding neighborhood. The residence is built on a steep site and hence, is constructed vertically corresponding to it. The division of private, semi-private, and public indoor and outdoor is well interconnected. The structure showcases strategic planning of openings, provided to create between spaces minimizing direct sunlight.



3. Almeta Residence
Exhibiting strong and straight right angles, these three-storeyed structures is an inward-looking house due to its privacy issue from the surrounding. The glass panels, decks, and partitions have been placed precisely to ensure privacy. The interior and exterior of this house are a combination of new and old as the existing structure was a strong design itself.



4. Goldstone Residence
The Goldstone Residence also called the ‘Un-white House’ is designed according to the client’s vision as it was well researched and clear of not having anything white. The façade of the house was lined with long glass panels as every room was required to have a view and be open to nature. The backyard was designed to be quiet not in a spiritual way but the material and sense wise i.e softer and warmer.



5. Fier Studio
A wrap-around deck for a family weekend getaway and a backyard writing studio is a small cozy structure having overhangs on three sides to protect it from the sun and an exterior cladding with cypress siding burnt to flash a striking dark finish. It has been treated as a retreat space for the family lined with large bay windows having touches of simplicity and elegance.



6. Lewin Residence
A budget-restricted house, constructed on a steeply sloping site is a two-toned display house consisting of a rich neutral brown and a vibrant sienna. The spaces within are longer and bigger due to fewer partitions maximizing the connection between outdoor and indoor spaces. The façade is cladded with inexpensive, low maintenance and durable material called fiber cement panels painted with the two tones.



7. Jannat Residence
Flourishing amidst nature. This house showcases multiple kinds of materials on its façade ie., cement, stone, plaster, steel, and wood. Space offers a play of proportions and volumes giving it an interesting edge with cantilevered spaces without supports. The glass panels have been used to get optimized light inside and a scenic vision towards outside.



8. Sarvis Residence
Sarvis Residence differs a small amount from other projects. Showcasing tall and wide glass panels and projected cantilever, this residence’s structural elements are at defined angles to make spaces look bigger and to optimize natural light. The outdoors contains a swimming pool with a deck and lush green lawns making a pattern using softscape and hardscape materials.



9. Weststrate Residence
This particular project invites one into the house from the first floor. The central part of the south façade is lined up with a staircase marking an entry directly from the first floor and the north façade exposes all the space division happening in all the three floors which have been blindsided on the south façade with the use of veneers, staircase walls, and lesser openings.



10. Hodges Studio
The project space is a small studio on a sloping site with an interesting volume play consisting of a standard height to a double-height space. The interiors are mostly covered with wood with promising aesthetics. The roof design according to the heights is what makes this project look larger and a visionary.



11. Lennox Residence
The Lennox Residence is built on a steep site that has been used to full potential by playing with different volumes and projecting cantilevers. This residence has an attached greenhouse with a swimming pool in the backyard. It also features several steps in the backyard acting as a seating area facing the water body.



12. Liotta Residence
Responding to the contours of the site, this residence has a high raised plinth with an additional two stories lined with stretches of pebbles and small bushes around. It has one side sloping roof with an abundant opening for efficient light and ventilation throughout the structure.



13. Amelia Bay Tea Company
The tea company has been constructed amidst huge tea gardens with a rustic stone cladding façade to give the essence. It varies from a double-height space to a g+3 structure with ample openings and a grand entrance to welcome all who visit them.



14. Cooley Residence
The project is located on a sloping site as well and follows the concept of a container box household with cantilevers and a huge terrace and porch acting as buffer spaces.



15. Crandall Residence
The extravagant interiors of this residence consisted of the project. The partition walls are made up of glass and wood and the furniture is mostly used as the unit to divide the spaces and different types of materials varying for a marble to concrete have been used to design the corresponding furniture.
