The owner, a former UT student, lawyer, chef, and now master distiller desired a modern day speakeasy – the sophisticated “after dinner drink” spot suitable for a memorable night out.

Dick Clark + Associates worked with Kypreos’ concept to build Blackland on the foundation of “remastering,” which is woven into every touch point — ingredients, flavor profiles, bottle and package design, cocktail offerings, and more. This “remastering” translated into the space by blending traditional materials with a minimal aesthetic.

Classic details such as the painted beadboard wainscot, channel tufted booth backs and marble topped horseshoe bar are updated with a dark and restrained palette, black steel accents and modern lighting.
