This is the second establishment that Masquespacio has designed for the Egeo brand, following their successful collaboration in Valencia, marking an evolution in the aesthetics and concept of the brand.

For this new stage in Madrid, Masquespacio has conceived a 50-square-meter space that transcends the freshness and vibrant energy of their first design. The studio has sought an aesthetic maturity and a profound reflection on Egeo’s more than ten-year trajectory in the Greek gastronomy sector.

The conceptual inspiration for this project lies in the Greek myth of Pandora. After Zeus punished humanity by having Prometheus steal fire, Pandora opened a box releasing all evils. However, at the bottom of the box remained hope, a symbol of resilience and the possibility of reconstruction even in the darkest moments.

This concept translates into a design that evokes a sense of mystery, discovery, and a beauty that emerges from experience. The materiality of the project plays a fundamental role in this narrative. A palette of soft and enveloping beige tones has been used, providing calm and sophistication, contrasted with light touches of electric blue, a subtle and modern nod to the visual identity of the Egeo brand.

A distinctive element of the design is the cladding columns. These structures, created using 3D printing, present an organic and stratified texture that evokes, on the one hand, the natural beauty and solidity of marble quarries. On the other hand, their shape and arrangement suggest a dramatic reinterpretation of ancient Greece, capturing an atmosphere that is both historical and contemporary.

Ana Hernández, art director from Masquespacio: ‘After the vibrant experience in Valencia, for Madrid we wanted to offer a more introspective vision of Egeo, recognizing its trajectory. The myth of Pandora provided us with a rich narrative to explore the duality between difficulty and hope, translating into a space with a deeper and more reflective beauty. The choice of beige tones and touches of electric blue connect with the brand, while the 3D-printed columns are a dramatic reinterpretation of antiquity, merging the solidity of marble with a contemporary vision.’

The new Egeo space in Madrid promises to be a meeting point where authentic Greek gastronomy merges with an interior design that stimulates the senses, reflection, and evokes a dramatic connection with history.
