Samuel Lamas, the creative force behind the brand, brings a unique perspective shaped by his architectural training and artistic sensibility. Educated at the Università degli Studi di Roma 3, he absorbed the classical rigor of proportion and the Italian reverence for material honesty.

This European experience, combined with the influence of his father, engineer Ruy Lamas, sharpened his eye for efficiency and structural clarity. In his designs, every component serves an essential function—nothing is superfluous.

His pieces carry the playful spirit of Brasília, a city where modernism meets exuberance. The influence of masters like Sergio Rodrigues, Jorge Zalszupin, Lina Bo Bardi, and Geraldo de Barros is evident in the way his furniture harmonizes comfort with sculptural presence. Crafted industrially in São Paulo and Uberaba, each piece bears the name of a family member or close friend, reinforcing the personal narrative within the design.

Lamas Design embraces the truth of materials—wood, metal, and textiles reveal their essence, free from excess ornamentation. Every proportion is carefully studied for human comfort, ensuring that beauty is matched by usability. Available in Brazil and internationally through 1stDibs and Cobogó Gallery, these pieces transcend their function to become lasting companions in the spaces they inhabit—timeless, sincere, and unmistakably Brazilian.
