In alignment with its core principle of excellence in craftsmanship, the furnishings brand AE Living unveiled FORMA, a bespoke collection of chairs. Each piece in the collection is magical in its form, be it its stillness, motion, or quiet power.
Project Name: FORMA Collection
Studio Name: AE Living

With a vision to ‘transcend the ordinary to craft extraordinary living spaces’, the FORMA collection comprises objects born not just from a standpoint of utility, but also deep thought that takes into account both the hand and the eye. This collection answers how form serves the body, the space, and the spirit altogether. It also takes into account design principles, age-old practices, the tatami mat’s grounded humility, the architectural silence of Brutalist form and even the poetic utility of academic furnishings.
The FORMA collection chose materials for their character rather than novelty, carefully assessing the way wood bears memory, metal carries light, and fabric holds the imprint of the body. It took a tactile, intentional approach and remained deeply respectful of origin throughout. The collection is a culmination of seasons of study, sketch, and shaping, not as a singular burst of creation, but as an unfolding. “The journey of FORMA was not one of seeking what is new, but of returning to what is essential,” says Ankit Jain, Founder of AE Living. “In an age where the pursuit of innovation often borders on the excessive, we chose a quieter path, one that treads closer to the rhythms of the hand, the curve of the spine, the poise of the posture,” he mentions.

The Tatami Chair that keeps a naturally grounded, low-profile is perfect for meditative moments, leisurely gatherings, or even low table dining. It features an earthen repose silhouette that adds to the minimalist aesthetics and small-space living.
Designed for academia, libraries, and refined office environments, The Scholar Chair is for design aesthetes who have an eye for craftsmanship. The Ravello Chair, with its clean lines and slim profile, is a durable, dependable, and versatile piece that fits naturally in compact dining areas and formal settings.

Onda is capable of attracting the eye with its sinuous curves and understanding of human ergonomics. It invites the user to sink in, slow down, and seek solace in its most indulgent form. True to its name, Brut exhibits strength in its rigid profile and firm seating. Crafted from industrial grade materials like engineered hardwood, it commands attention while maintaining balance and restraint.
Melt, truly fluid in its form, is suited for elegant living spaces, reading corners, or modern office lounges. Draped in tactile fabric over high-density cushioning, and framed in sculpted wood, the chair is all about elevating rest.

The Haio Chair has a champagne-toned backrest and carefully constructed frame for those who prefer luxury and style. The use of sumptuous fabric in vibrant colours and tactile textures ensures a sensory experience of pure opulence.
An epitome of comfortable living, The Alexa Chair follows your flow with its discreet 360°swivel base. Whether you want to turn toward a conversation or simply shift with ease, this piece will mirror your course.
With a nuanced design language at its core, the FORMA collection believes in effortless pairing of comfort and class to define its creations. Its designs align with the natural analogies of human form, to support, cradle, and invite stillness. These furnishings, made in a modern context are still rooted in old ways, wherein each curve and line hold meaning, and no element is purposeless. Drawing from the wellsprings of nature, craft, and time-honoured architecture to fashion pieces of noble character and enduring spirit, FORMA is a subtle claim that form endures, and in its purest state, it speaks.

FORMA is not a closed chapter, it is a breathing body of work, ever-evolving as AE Living continues to observe, question, and grasp the emotional and physical landscapes that shape human life. “We believe design must remain attuned to the quiet shifts in how we live, what we seek, and how we feel. As we deepen our inquiry into human emotion and desire, from the need for stillness and solitude to the longing for connection and beauty, new forms will naturally emerge,” says Vrinda Kumary, Creative Director of AE Living.
