These are experimental designs for two villas, located in the Chilean coast. The designs are inspired by the form of ships. Long, spacious decks, observation platforms, watchtowers, stairs, handrails. These are the typological elements.

Order, clarity, simplicity, tectonic consistency…these are the formal-spatial principles. The idea is to provide the inhabitants with a sense of amplitude and visual dominion of the surrounding landscape.

An architecture of wide and deep perspectives, which also constitutes a “stage” for the inhabitants themselves, who therefore become “actors”.

The neutral clarity of the spatial configurations allows to appreciate their bodily gestures in their ephemeral delicateness. Thus, walking along a deck, jumping into a pool, or climbing a stair at sunset become unique performative acts, illuminated by a subtle aura of elegance and distinction.
