The project approached both interior and exterior design as parts of a single architectural narrative, ensuring that every detail contributed to a coherent dialogue between private living spaces and the building’s outward identity.

A key focus of the intervention was the enhancement of the shared areas, conceived as bright, orderly environments that support daily movement in a natural and comfortable way. The circulation spaces are wide and calm, defined by pale surfaces that capture and diffuse natural light, creating quiet, luminous pathways that link the residential units with clarity. The stairwells were imagined as small social nodes rather than simple connectors—places that offer a moment of pause within the vertical sequence of the building. Railings and handrails adopt minimal, slender lines that enable light to pass freely through, reducing visual weight and drawing the eye upward within an airy and composed setting.

Color selection for the external architectural elements played a decisive role in shaping the building’s renewed appearance. Window frames and shutters were finished in sand and soft powder blue, establishing a subtle yet contemporary contrast against the light façades and adding rhythm to the sequence of openings. Railings and ancillary components echo these tones, creating a unified visual language that lends lightness to the façades. This chromatic strategy allows architectural details to stand out while preserving the building’s understated elegance and its respectful relationship with the historic center.

Within one of the apartments, the studio also developed a complete interior design scheme, characterized by bespoke furnishings and carefully selected finishes that continue the architectural vocabulary of the building, reinforcing its identity. Attention was given to the design of built-in elements, the choice of materials, and the configuration of service spaces, achieving a balance between practicality, comfort, and visual restraint.

Through this intervention, Palazzo Mazzini is reimagined as a refined and orderly place, restoring value to an existing structure and offering a welcoming atmosphere both to its inhabitants and to those who move through the urban fabric of Montebelluna.
