In the days before the epidemic, emotion and personal preferences played a role in choosing the ideal place to eat. As we traverse a world that is returning to a new normal, our ideas on restaurant layouts have changed significantly in the modern day. Nowadays, a dining area represents the pursuit of coziness and an airy, stimulating ambiance, with a dramatic change in perspective with natural interaction being a vital component of the encounter. Many of the businesses that opened in the latter half of 2021 and 2022 have adopted this changing trend, and Danza, our business, actively took part in implementing this forward-thinking staring in the direction.

Studio Name: Danza Del Design
Our poolside cafe, “Izzipizzi,” is the creation of Riddhima, the founder of Danza Del Design, and her gifted team of designers. It is tucked away in a picturesque refuge in Goa. Situated on a generous 3500 square foot property, the cafe skilfully combines traditional elegance with modern vibrancy. Our main objective was to construct a surrounding oasis and create a more large and luxury pool within the existing constraints, as we were first confronted with an awkwardly shaped, outdated pool surrounded by 150 rooms. We came to the conclusion that this oasis needed to become more than just a place isolated from the coast; it needed to become a self-contained culinary haven. The idea came to life as a way to provide not just a swimming area but also an immersive setting that welcomes people to dine, drink, and swim together in harmony.
“Izzipizzi” is a call to relaxation that embodies the peace of a Goan tropical paradise.
The design language and colour palette, which were inspired by the beautiful sunset’s hues, reflect the sky’s shifting gradients and mix in perfectly with the surrounding geography. Immersion in a setting that captures the calming charm of a sunset invites visitors to rejuvenate in a natural tropical haven.
As you walk into the cafe, you’ll be mesmerized by the enormous 14-foot arches that serve as a transition between space and time. Each arch, having transformed into a storyteller, conveys the three key components of a Goan getaway: sunshine, good times, and tanning! Their interior surfaces are enlivened by mosaic birds, and the bamboo chandeliers with trailing creepers hanging over them are a charming sight.
The project begins with four sturdy arches and follows a clearly defined zoning approach.
Three serve different areas for seating, and a cute picture booth is located in the corner. Next, a classy 90-foot swimming pool with a multipurpose jacuzzi. A compelling fountain with a cabana over it orchestrates a water ballet that adds to the overall attractiveness of the room. The arches are made of metal, MS steel, and stainless steel, and they can survive the harsh climate of Goa enveloped by ACP sheets that withstand weather. Every building tier has its own story: An exterior covered in ACP, a pliable marine plywood grid with LED cove lighting, and resonant speakers. Innovative design, expert engineering, and regional artistic talent come together to create wonderful experience that will never be forgotten.
The project is an architectural endeavour that combines sustainability and durability as core principles. The artwork that is displayed all around the place replicates the spirit of the surroundings into an immersive story, acting as a visual representation of the exact terrain it adorns.
“Izzipizzi” is a “glocal” restaurant that combines global aesthetics with locally sourced elements, exemplifying designer Riddhima’s vision. The restaurant features a fusion of culinary excellence and impeccable design, with locally sourced materials and unique menu items like the ‘falafel poi’ and beef jack burger.
This project blends upper mid-segment and opulent luxury, using durable materials and a focus on quality in culinary offerings and venue aesthetics. The furniture withstands sun exposure, and a photobooth captures visitors’ memories.
