  2. Identify the peak overlap window.
  3. Assign counter and drawer territories explicitly.
  4. Draw circulation paths and widen crossing points where possible.
  5. Layer lighting with independent control.
  6. Confirm plumbing feasibility before finalizing millwork.

If a plan holds up under this level of scrutiny, it is far more likely to perform well in daily use.
