Glace is built around an offset composition. A cantilevered work surface extends outward, held in balance by a secondary storage pillar. The result is a quiet interplay of weight and suspension, giving the desk a sense of lightness despite its solid timber construction.
The design begins at the drafting stage, where each angle is calculated to achieve proportion and stability. This precision carries through to execution, where the timber is shaped to hold a clean, modern silhouette. The exterior is finished in N459 high gloss PU, lending a deep reflective surface that sharpens edges and enhances the form. Applied in a controlled setting, the finish is both durable and visually crisp.
Inside, the drawers offer a softer note. Lined with hand-fitted suede, they introduce a tactile contrast to the structured exterior. The handle-less system keeps the form uninterrupted, allowing the surface to remain visually clear.
Produced entirely in-house, from CAD development to final finishing, Glace reflects AE Living’s focus on control and detail. More than a functional piece, it is a considered addition to a workspace, shaped for those who value order, material, and restraint.
