Located in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, this office was furnished by interior designer Julia Baydyk, founder of Alta Idea Design Studio, in order to provide working space with a homely relaxation area for a construction and development company. The large open space with floor-to-ceiling windows is light and airy.

A laconic design language of clean lines, symmetric forms, and sandy colors focuses on functionality and a cozy atmosphere. Dark American walnut wood adds warmth; brass accents on the walls, door handles, and furniture add a touch of sophistication. Velvet seating and cushions lend the otherwise office environment a homely feel that promotes a comfortable and balanced working lifestyle.

The main task of the room layout was to retain the feeling of open space while creating comfortable separate zones for each employee. Partitions behind each supporting column were installed and fitted out with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and mirrors on each side to accomplish the task. The director’s room is separated by a glass partition for a maximum sense of transparency and openness. Behind the large bespoke glass and brass doors is a separate meeting room with big artworks.

A separate waiting area with walnut paneling next to the reception creates an intimate corner to relax and socialize, boosting vibrant energy in the monochrome space. A lavatory is concealed in a large wooden cube. The “Physic Side Table,” manufactured from steel and finished in gold with a black enameled top, adds a touch of glamour.

Finally, the Kine Lamp made of steel and natural stone with its shade resembling an oriental hat adds further elegance. It sums up an interior design of simple elegance and soft minimalism.
