Adam Noah Levine is an American artist, songwriter, and musician who is the lead vocalist for the infamous pop rock band Maroon 5. The 3-time Grammy award winner started his music career with his schoolmates in a garage band called Kara’s Flowers. After the breakup of this band, Levine left LA and moved to New York, where he later reunited with his bandmates with a few additions that gave rise to one of the best pop bands, Maroon 5. Adam married Victoria’s Secret supermodel Behati Prinsloo in 2014 and has two daughters. Although a famous pair, the two have managed to have a very low-key life which reflects in their choices of houses. They are avid art collectors and appreciate art. 1) Los Angeles house | Adam Levine House
This beautiful ranch-style house sits on the serene background of Los Angeles, where Adam grew up. Spread across over 3 acres this house has 10 bedrooms with a private theatre, personal bar, and a separate gym/office structure. It was designed by Cliff May in the late 1930s through a series of renovations that transformed the place from what it originally used to be. Adam and Behati said that the property felt ‘homey’ and was exactly what they were looking for away from the hectic and fast-paced Beverly Hills where the couple lived earlier.
Adam and Behati appreciate art and architecture and turned to the mother-son duo of Clements Design to undertake interior remodeling works. They hired renowned Landscape designer Mark Rios to beautify the grounds of this estate. The living spaces consist of three structures- the main house, the 4 bedroom guest house, and a yoga /gym plus office area covering over 16,000 square feet. The goal of their renovation project was to simplify the material and color palette creating a neutral aesthetic while giving the original structure a breathing space. The house has an extensive collection of art, furniture, and all the beautiful things that the couple loves.
The contemporary and elegant main structure has off-white plastered walls paired with natural wood flooring and soaring ceilings. The full-height glass wall provides a playful spatial relationship with the outdoors while providing stunning views from the ocean to Downtown LA.
The furniture designed by Clements Design is very chic and classy just as the couple likes it. A massive artwork by Rashid Johnson sits right on the main wall of the living area which Adam describes as ‘emotional and complicated but also really beautiful. The clean plastered and edgy kitchen with an informal dining area where the family spends most of their time. In the dining area is a beautiful Sage Vaughn art piece which was an inspiration for one of the band’s albums and cover.
After moving downstairs lies a theatre where all the friends and family hang out. At the same level is Adam’s music studio in which he ends up creating the wonderful music, we all groove to. In his studio is a magnificent portrait by Andrew Zuckerman which happens to be of a rhino which Behati and her foundation work towards saving.
The master bedroom is very modern and has a subtle color palette. But the true masterpiece is the walk-in wardrobe which has an impressive sneaker collection along with many luxuries owned by Levine. Behati’s closet is a dream and houses some of the most amazing vintage collections from her fashion and modeling days. Attached to the closet is the spacious white marble bathroom with an in-house sauna.
Contrasting the rest of the house is a dark-themed bar room with a deep grey wall featuring black and white photos of friends and family. In addition to this, the property has a basketball court, a doll house for the couple’s daughters, a dreamy contemporary swimming pool, and multiple outdoor sit-outs to experience the beauty of the house and enjoy the amazing views.
2) Montecito Mansion
Spread across 3.5 acres custom-made for Rob Lowe back in 2009, this magnificent house is known as the Oakwood Estate. The house owned by Adam and Behati is quite different from one in LA in terms of location, architecture, and interiors. Located in the star-studded locality of Montecito, Calif this house is designed by Don Nulty and has a 6-bedroom, 8 bathrooms along with a 2-bed guest house and a bath and bed attached to the stunning pool. The entrance manor has a touch of classics like the 2 Doric-style columns paired with the cupola.
The Spanish-style mansion has a wooden floor, and intricate dentil molding, and the millwork contributes to the traditional and elegant look of the house. With over nine fireplaces across the house, the white interiors capture the essence of California. The wooden members, arched windows, and exposed beams give the interior its grandeur. The living room opens up into a patio, and garden along with a dining space that has a fireplace in it. The luxurious mansion has a home theatre, wine cellar with a sunken tennis court, swimming pool, and motor court amidst the manicured lawns and landscapes.
The kitchen with a central island has classic light wood flooring paired up with white and steel finishes- making it a timeless classic combination. The master bedroom has a deep window with a private terrace that overlooks the stunning view of the Pacific ocean. The master bathroom has white marble which repeats in the walk-in closets which are must-haves for the musician-model duo.
Adam and Behati bought this beautiful house after it was remodeled in 2019.
In addition to all the luxuries, this house is an example of classic architecture paired with the amazing landscape, making it a dream house!
