The project aims to convert this space into a school square, an open area designed to facilitate interaction and meetings between the school community and local residents. The goal is to improve both the visual appeal and functionality of the space, meeting residents’ needs and creating a more inviting and safe environment.

Key changes include making the area pedestrian-only, removing direct vehicle access, and adding new green spaces. These modifications are intended to enhance the quality of life for both children and residents. New play areas with child-friendly equipment have been installed, along with recreational spaces for the community, including benches for resting and socializing.

Flowering trees have been planted, and the area’s aesthetic features have been improved. Additionally, bike racks have been added to support sustainable transportation, and public lighting has been upgraded to enhance safety and usability during the evening.

The transformation of the space in front of the “Lucia Viano” Kindergarten into a school square marks a significant upgrade for the Donatello district. This project not only addresses functional and aesthetic needs but also creates a vibrant and interactive space that enriches both community and school life, fostering safety and well-being for all its users.
